About Our School

Cadence Academy Preschool, Greenboro has proudly served 1000s of families in Greensboro since we opened our doors in 2000. Previously known as Village Kids Child Care Center, we changed our name in November 2019 as part of our school’s ongoing commitment to providing our families the best preschool programming possible. We offer child care services for ages 6 weeks – 12 years old in a warm and nurturing preschool environment that prepares young minds for future academic success! And, as elementary schools are altering schedules, we are here to serve your needs and the needs of your school-aged children with enhanced programs to help with virtual learning sessions and more. We also participate in the Guilford County Pre-K program allowing eligible children to receive a quality Pre-K education free of charge. Click HERE to learn more about this program.

Ascend CurriculumAscend Curriculum Logo

Our teachers focus on age-appropriate practices that gently guide children through each stage of development. We want to make the most of your child’s first educational experiences, which is why we utilize a skill-based approach that balances social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development.

The flexibility built into our Ascend Curriculum allows us to create personalized learning experiences for each child in our care. Our preschool teachers are encouraged to modify activities to fit the interests, learning style, and current skill level of each student so that these educational experiences are engaging and fun! Important skills are taught within every program and fine-tuned just before kindergarten in Kindergarten Club.

Kind Child

Kind Child Program LogoKind Child is a wonderful program that helps us nurture a set of social skills that will serve your child for a lifetime. We focus on Kind Child skills as a core part of our Ascend Curriculum every month and introduce a character trait like a Positive Self-Image, Respect, Thankfulness, and Responsibility every two months. The goal of Kind Child is to elevate the emotional well-being of every child and encourage positive friendships all over our preschool!

Enrichment Activities

Cadence Academy Greensboro regularly invites leading providers in the Greensboro community to engage our students in additional enrichment activities. Although many of these activities are already explored in our classrooms, this is a great way to get your child access to expert instruction when they show interest in a specific discipline. Some of the enrichment activities we are offer are: Tumble with Care, Spanish, ExtravaDance, Computer Explorers, Little Hoopers, Kinder Kixx Soccer, Musicare, and JumpBunch.

School-Age Program

Cadence Academy Greensboro has a fully equipped After School classroom that elementary students love. They take advantage of the quiet area to complete homework and enjoy our large activity areas when it’s time for play, activities, and socializing. We also offer a full day program for elementary students during summer and other school breaks.

Our After School program provides transportation for students at six local elementary schools. We currently offer after care pick-up at Colfax Elementary School in Colfax, Oak Ridge Elementary School in Oak Ridge, and Pierce Elementary School, General Greene Elementary School, Claxton Elementary School, and Cornerstone Charter Academy in Greensboro, NC. And, as elementary schools are altering schedules, we are here to serve your needs and the needs of your school-aged children with enhanced programs to help with virtual learning sessions and more.

I'm not a first time mom but I am a first time daycare mom. Cadence Academy has made putting my son in daycare easy. He started late spring of 2019 and was a few months old. I really loved that I could come in whenever I wanted to see what was going on and their app keeps you up to date on all meals and bathroom breaks with occasional cute pics as well. I liked that they had areas to breastfeed as well. Speaking with teachers at drop off and pick up, I could really tell teachers cared about the kid. My sons teachers would recognize out of the norm eating, potty and behavior habbits and would let me know which us beneficial to compare to what's going on at home. The building was always clean and I felt confident my son was safe and cared for. Fast forward a year to spring 2020 - COVID. I pull my son out for a bit because I started working from home and everything was wierd. Also they ended up closing for a bit to follow all government guidelines. Before I pulled him out in March, they had already stopped allowing parents in the classrooms. As more information came out from the CDC, they continued to update their practices an made sure to let parents know every step of the way. I put my son back in about 3 months later. Currently parents are not allowed un the building. Parents drop children off one family at a time in the front entrance. Kids get temp checks as parents answer COVID screening questions. I never had any fear of returning my son to Cadence because between how I saw they ran their school pre COVID and their openess about everything going on I knew they were doing everything they could on their end. I am glad I chose Cadence for my son because with everything that's happen since he started, I have never felt apprehensive about having them take care of him. Other positive, part of what help me choose them, they have experience with therapist coming into the school to work with kids that need it. My son has speech delays so it's nice to no that any therapist he may see could potentially come in to daycare so I don't have to miss work on a regular basis. Thanks to all teachers and staff.

We've been extremely pleased with how Cadence has handled their COVID response and has worked to keep their teachers, students, and families safe. There are MANY things outside of their control but the things they have been able to control (i.e. communication to families) has been wonderful. Ms. Anna is always quick to respond to emails and answer questions. I can always count on someone answering the phone, and there are weekly updates and communications going out about what to expect. I'm always so amazed at how the staff know every family member and their care for my children shows in everything they do. We are VERY fortunate to have Cadence as a partner throughout COVID so my husband and I can continue to work.

Our five and two year old LOVE going to "school." The teachers, front desk staff, support staff and admin are all super friendly and lovely to interact with. I really appreciate being greeted each time I walk in for drop off's & pick up's. Our five year old's preschool teacher, Shanita, is fantastic! She updates KidReport on the daily with pictures and a recap of what was learned. This has allowed for targeted discussions on the ride home and at the dinner table. Our two year old's teacher, Beth, has really supported him with learning words and having fun experiences. I highly recommend Village Kids / Cadence Academy to anyone in the area :).

Awesome Daycare. Very clean facility and professional staff who are great with our kids. Always lots of fun activities planned for the kids to take part in. The most recent was the Christmas play. My daughter's teacher, Shanita, did a fabulous job planning this and getting the kids to work together. All the parents really enjoyed seeing their kids sing and dance! Best daycare in Greensboro, hands down.
