The caring staff at Phoenix Children’s Academy Private Preschool, Thunderbird has more than 145 years of combined experience in daycares and preschools. We recognize that young children need much more than intellectual development during their first years of life and we offer families in the West Valley a well-rounded preschool experience that also focuses on social, emotional, physical, and creative development.

Ascend Curriculum Logo Our Ascend Curriculum and dedicated teachers work hand-in-hand to create engaging educational experiences in nine different subjects every month. Our preschool programs are offered in six month ranges so students can be with peers who are at a similar level of development and we help children reach important milestones at every age.

Kind Child

Kind Child Program LogoKind Child is an important part of our monthly curriculum and the foundation of our school’s culture. The goal of Kind Child is to improve the emotional well-being of each child in our care through the development of valuable character traits such as Empathy, Responsibility, Respect, and a Positive Self-Image. Our teachers focus on developing social-emotional skills each month and a different character trait every two months. The result is a preschool environment where every child feels welcome and valued.

School-to-Home Connection

We have found that children thrive in a preschool setting when there is a strong partnership between school and home. We have an open door policy at Phoenix Children’s Academy and we welcome families to visit at any time. We offer a variety of communication pieces to keep you informed about your child’s day and academic progress. We give our parents Developmental Portfolios which document their development from Infants all the way through Pre-Kindergarten. We have fun family activities throughout the year and we make it our mission to establish a personal connection with every child and family.

I absolutely love Phoenix Children’s Academy! As new parents, we visited so many daycare and preschool facilities and walked away disappointed. I almost quit my job to stay home because we had such a hard time finding a place we felt comfortable with. Our son required a little extra care when it came to feeding as an infant and none of the places we visited made us feel comfortable that they would give the care our son needed accept for PCA. At PCA, they welcomed us with open arms and did everything they could to show love and care to our little one. He thrived at PCA and the focus on education there helped set him up for success in kindergarten. In fact, he was so well prepared we ended up having to put him in a kindergarten program with a more rigorous curriculum than was offered at our neighborhood school! He was prepared with the social skills, emotional skills and educational skills to not just be prepared, but to thrive in kindergarten. I’m so grateful for the staff at PCA. Now we have our second child at PCA and he loves it just as much as his big brother did! It’s such a comforting feeling as a parent to know that your kid is excited to run into his classroom everyday. I cannot say enough good things about PCA, but I’ll try! Here’s a few more reasons I love this school: 1) it’s culturally diverse with students and teachers, 2) they listen to concerns and actively address them 3) they feed the kids healthy food 4) they make every day fulfilling and stimulating for the kids 5) they prepare the kids for a world outside of their daycare, emotionally and socially, 6) they encourage building broad friendships and actively try to prevent cliques from becoming harmful to the harmony of the class — the kids are taught to get along with everyone and to be eager to be friendly to as many other kids as possible. Of course friendships happen, as they should, but I love that they don’t let the kids get too cliquey. 7) every teacher I’ve interacted with has shown me through their actions that they genuinely love the kids they care for. It’s enough to bring a tear to my eye. They say my kids are too old for PCA will be an emotional day, indeed.
