We asked Deb, one of our School Directors, about life at her school.

I started my journey with Cadence Education in May of 2004. In 2013, I had to take some time off for medical reasons but was welcomed back with open arms!

Cadence strongly believes in promoting from within and to support this, they have an amazing program called LTP-Leadership Training Program. It’s a 9-month program dedicated to developing and training future leaders. For most of us, knowing we are part of a company that takes their employees future growth into consideration is a huge perk. It was through this program that I was able to advance my career with Cadence.

Cadence understands how important it is for our children and families to have loving, consistent caregivers. Incredible bonds are forged between teachers and children.

Honestly, this world right now is filled with chaos and so many horrible things happening everywhere you go. Our little “world” in our school, of course, has been affected in many ways but the amount of love and joy our children bring to every one of us is the #1 reason we all come to work every day. We are a family – staff as well as the children and families we meet and get to know thoroughly. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, foster parents – they all mean so much to us. We cheer in triumph for our children when amazing things happen and help them through the rough spots life throws at them from time to time.

It’s the feeling of family that makes us all happy at work. We know if one of us had a rough night because of a personal issue and they need support, we are there for them. The best definition of family I have ever read was: A family is a group of people who love and care for each other.

We are in a tough line of work. Not only is this a physically demanding job-being on your feet all day, whether you’re running on the playground with a group of children or teaching in the classroom, you are definitely getting your steps in! It is also mentally and emotionally demanding. True, these children go back to their families after school, but while they are with us, we are 100% invested in each and every child we have in our care. Teachers have to love what they do here to be successful.

Bottom line-invest in your staff just as you do for your own family and they will be happy.
