About Cadence Academy Preschool in Lacey, WA
Cadence Academy Preschool uses an emergent curriculum focused on the child’s individual strengths, interests & developmental needs of each child within the class. The curriculum is research based and incorporates observation & assessment into our daily planning; the teacher observes each child throughout the week, documents their observations and creates a weekly plan of activities to meet each child’s needs. Individualization is an important part of our center that we believe strengthens each child’s skills.
Our activities are in the fields of: Art, Science, Literacy, Math, Technology, Social Studies
Our Philosophy
Cadence Academy Preschool will strive to provide childcare of the highest quality, stressing a safe, secure environment; a nurturing, professional team of staff; and the finest educational experiences. We are committed to providing a program that balances each child’s intellectual, physical, social, creative, and emotional needs. We believe that early learning is relationship-based. Our fundamental goal is to establish trusting relationships among children, teachers, and parents. Therefore, we will strive to establish relationships with our students and to model appropriate behaviors and social skills.
National Accreditation
Cadence Academy Preschool is Nationally Accredited through the National Association of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC is one of the most prestigious accrediting organizations. NAEYC is recognized for their high standards of quality that all accredited centers are required to achieve and maintain.
Washington State Early Achievers
Cadence Academy Preschool will be a Washington State Early Achievers participant. Early Achievers is a quality rating program that empowers early learning professionals through coaching and resources to provide high-quality care that supports each child’s learning and development, so they are prepared to be successful in school and life.

School Director
I started out as a teacher in a preschool, school-age, and private Kindergarten for 3 years. I then became an Assistant Director in 2013 for 2 years before I became a Director in 2015. I was a Director for 9 years before I became a Senior Director in 2024. At Cadence, every smile, hug, and milestone matters. Whether you’re a part of our amazing team or one of our wonderful families, please know how much you are appreciated. Dianna Burch
Assistant Director
I first started in a childcare center in 2017 and was with them for over a year. I first started at my current location in late 2018. I first started off as a floater and then became a toddler lead teacher, while I was in this role I also became the opening supervisor. I did this until I became the Assistant Director in 2022. Being able to see children learn and grow while also fostering a positive, engaging, and nurturing relationship with the families and children. When I first went back to college for my ECE degree it sparked a passion for learning and became an advocate of being a lifelong learner. I loved learning about child development and building social-emotional skills with children. I love to read, play video games, anime, art and crafts, watching Korean dramas and variety shows, and organization.
