About Cadence Academy Preschool in Lacey, WA
Welcome to Cadence Academy Preschool, Sleater-Kinney. Surrounded by the pristine Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, mesmerizing Mt. Rainier, and the tranquil waters of the Puget Sound, Lacey, Washington is a natural paradise.
Our preschool and child care center is conveniently located on the corner of 6th and Sleater Kinney directly across the street from North Thurston High School at 4110 6th Ave, NE in Lacey, Washington.
Our security-controlled private preschool has a beautiful outdoor playground divided into age-appropriate areas, where children enjoy playing on safe, fun equipment. Each of our classrooms offers an enriching environment in which children can grow and be confident and successful.
Our Philosophy
We work with families to provide the best child care possible to the children of Lacey. Through our research-directed curriculum, we encourage learning and discovery through play every day.
Child Care and Preschool Programs Offered:
- Infant Daycare (ages 6 weeks to 1 year) – This infant daycare program is designed to encourage the strong bonds, warmth, and security your child is familiar with at home.
- Toddler Daycare (ages 1 to 2) – A childcare program designed to inspire your child’s sense of discovery and active learning.
- Early Childhood Learning (ages 2 to 3) – Our early childhood learning program helps improve gross and fine motor skills, vocabulary, and learning through discovery activities.
- Preschool (ages 3 to 4) – This carefully designed program helps prepare preschool students for Pre-Kindergarten.
- Pre-Kindergarten (ages 4 to 5) – Our Pre-K program weaves the skills and experiences taught in previous years to prep preschool students for the transition to Kindergarten.
Our preschool offers multiple, age-appropriate learning environments, as well as an outdoor learning environment for students to enjoy.
Infants & Toddlers
In the nursery, highly skilled teachers provide infants with developmental stimulation through cuddling, rocking, story time, songs, art exploration, and lots of tummy time activities. The toddlers explore their environment and creativity with daily art projects and sensory activities, including story time and music.
Preschoolers and Pre-Kindergarteners
Preschoolers enjoy a structured schedule of “Letter of the Week,” ABCs, 123s, colors, songs, exercise and story time, as well as potty training experience. We foster creativity, imagination, and independence among preschoolers in a safe environment.

I started working in early childhood education when I traveled to Mexico in 2016 where I spent 2 years working with young children teaching them to read and write, teaching English on my free time. In 2018 I officially started working as a Teacher Assistant before I was hired on to Cadence as a Teacher Assistant. What I enjoy most about education is the connection you have to the children and their families. Being able to have the privilege to form part of the littles one early learning process, through teamwork with your peers, and families working while closely together to help set children up for success, and seeing those light bulb moments is what I truly enjoy most !
I have a very big family, and I truly enjoy spending time with them. I spend a lot of time reading when the weather is cold. I like to be active and snowboard in the winter. I also enjoy going to concerts and will even travel to another state for a fun of the concert.

I moved to Washington in 2021 from Florida. Before moving here, I lived in South Korea during 2020 and at that time I taught English to children! I started working with children 10 years ago where I spent time working in an Elementary School in my hometown for 5 years then finishing the rest of my time in Korea and at Cadence. In 2021 I officially started working at Cadence as the 5-year-old Lead teacher. I worked with the Pre-Kindergarten (we call our Sr. Pre-K room), for four years until I moved into the role of Assistant Director. Throughout the years I have always had a passion for working with kids, seeing the smiles on their faces when learning something new, making new friends and growing socially and emotionally has always been a blessing. The connections made along the way have been so special.
Although all of my family live back in Florida, I do visit them at least once a year. I love playing games, watching my favorite shows, coloring and travelling.

I was born in the Philippines and growing up my dad worked for the air force as a civilian contractor. Having family in the Military, we moved around a lot. I have lived in the Philippines, Turkey and Korea. I was also in the Army for 6 years as well! I love sports, music and movies/tv shows. I graduated high school in Manhattan, Kansas then went to SPCC here in Washington. I have been working as a teacher at Cadence for about 1 year, and love spending time with all the children and watching them learn!
