About Winwood Children’s Center Preschool in Gainesville, VA
Just one visit will show you that Winwood Children’s Center, Gainesville II is not an ordinary preschool. Formerly known as Lake Manassas Academy, our campus was designed by early childhood educators and arranged to give young children endless opportunity for positive interactions with the environment, peers, and teachers. Our preschool children explore a vast array of Learning Labs throughout the day and we take a balanced approach towards physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development that prepares young minds for success in elementary school and beyond.
Kind Child
Kind Child is a beautiful program that helps us elevate the emotional well-being of every child in our care. Kind Child is one of the core subjects in our monthly curriculum and we focus on social and emotional skills every month and positive character traits like a Positive Self-Image, Responsibility, and Thankfulness every two months. Our mission is to make kindness a habit and create a preschool environment where everyone feels welcome and at home.
Kindergarten Readiness
Providing your child an exceptional education is an important part of our promise to you. The educational experiences that children take part in at Cadence Academy Preschool are much different than what you’ll find at other preschools because our curriculum takes a skill-based approach to early education.
Our proprietary Ascend Curriculum helps children reach important developmental milestones and progressively builds valuable skill sets within 9 subjects every month. These experiences start in our Infant & Toddler program and progress all the way through Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten. Important skills are taught in every program and fine-tuned just before kindergarten in Kindergarten Club.
Getting to Our Preschool
Winwood Children’s Center, Gainesville II is located less than a mile south of Lee Highway (US 29) in Gainesville, Virginia. Our school is next to Baltusrol Boulevard at 14930 Holly Knoll Ln, Gainesville, VA 20155.
Need Before & After School Care? We provide transportation to Pine Branch Elementary School in Bristow, Haymarket Elementary School and Mountain View Elementary School in Haymarket, and Glenkirk Elementary School and Buckland Mills Elementary School in Gainesville, VA. We are also offering expanded School-Age programs to support all-day distance learning and more.

Our Team
Aracely Grant
Director
Aracely Grant has been with Cadence for 12 years. She began as a teacher, completed the LTP program in 2015, and has been the Acting Assistant Director for 3 Cadence schools in the past year. She has her CDA, an AA in Education, and is almost done with her Bachelor’s in Education.
Aracely is married with 4 children and lives in Marshall with her husband, Leo, and their children. Aracely enjoys jazz music, painting, and creative writing in her spare time.
Marlene Orren
Teacher
Marlene joined the Winwood family in November of 2004 as the cook. She loves to cook and hopes to one day open her own bakery; she makes wedding cakes now on the side. Marlene previously drove a school bus and was a care provider for the elderly prior to coming into the child care field. She was used to cooking large meals for her family of 5 sons (and her husband) so she brought some flavor and great food to Winwood. In 2007, Marlene broke her ankle and was bed ridden for about 3 months and upon her return to Winwood she joined the School Age room and drove the bus for us. She has a natural teacher and is very creative, often making her own games for the children. Marlene joined the Infant II room last year; she loves the little ones and brings her kind mannerisms and love of books to the room.
