Our Christian & Preschool Curriculums
At Cadence Academy Preschool, Grand Prairie, we are both Christian and traditional in our approach to education and our preschool utilizes both the Abeka and Ascend Curriculums. Abeka is dedicated to providing quality education from a Christian perspective. Abeka publications are built upon the firm foundation of scriptural truth and are written by Christian scholars who are well grounded in the practical aspects of teaching.
The Ascend Curriculum utilizes a skill-based approach to early childhood education, which allows us to continually take steps in the emotional, social, creative, physical, and cognitive development of each child in our care. Every month, our teachers introduce new skills across nine different learning areas such as Mathematics, Literacy, Cultural Understanding, Physical Fitness, and Kind Child. Activities within the Ascend Curriculum can be modified to the current skill level and interests of each student so that each child feels engaged, challenged, and supported.
To further enrich your child’s preschool experience, we are pleased to offer a number of extra-curricular activities such as Stretch-N-Grow, Little Music Maker, Cyber 4 Kids Computer Class, and JD Mobile Gymnastics.
We believe preschool children thrive when there is a strong partnership between school and home. We have an open door policy at our childcare center and encourage our parents to visit their children at any time. Our school has many exciting activities and events for our children and families throughout the year so keep an eye out for events such as Trunk or Treat, Fall Fest, Easter Egg Hunt, Muffins for Mommy, and Donuts for Daddy.
I have begun my studies in nursing and took some child psychology courses as well as early childhood courses. I also completed my CDA course and took several management courses as well. I have been employed at this school for eleven years. I have taught the pre-school classes, pre-k, and summer camp programs. I can honestly say my favorite was pre-k.
I was given the opportunity to become the Assistant and maintained that title for two years before the opportunity presented itself to become the Director. When I became the Director, I wanted to ensure that I created an environment among the staff that was positive and nurturing. I wanted to challenge them to not just be happy with the minimum, but push them to be their maximum self, not only for them, but for their students. The teachers are just that, teachers so I wanted them to act and feel as such. We don’t just sit around and play all day, we teach not only academics but what it means to care about people and be a good person.
I want our parents to know, feel, and believe that their presence of joining our family is of great value to us and they will be provided with the utmost care and respect as well as an excellent education.
My Faith is very important to me so the fact I am a part of a Faith based program means the world to me. Our parents love that we are a Faith based school that provides Chapel on Fridays. I have been married for twelve years to my amazing husband Brandon. We have three kids, Simone, Braylen, and Simorah, that keep us super busy between sports and school activities. In my spare time I love to travel, shop, eat….I love food and sleep! I look forward to being able to continue to have long lasting relationships with our current families as well as potential families. Cadence Academy Preschool is full of wonderful teachers and I am proud to say this is our School!
I’ve had the privilege of being a part of the Cadence Academy family since 2014. I was in the medical field for 15 years when I decided to pursue my first passion, which is teaching children. God placed me here at Cadence Academy, where I have been very happy and fortunate to work with many different age groups. I have a great passion for children and their families and I am committed to providing your child with a loving and developmentally sound foundation for a lifetime of learning.
