What Makes Us Unique
In order to provide the optimal learning environment and experience, we created our own signature curriculum: Ascend Curriculum. Our special program is filled with the following key components: baby signs, fine motor skills, art, music & movement, fun with fitness, literacy skills, Spanish, math focus, science, computers & technology, social studies, handwriting without tears, and Zoo-phonics. We also incorporate a kindness lesson with a focus on character building daily in our classrooms. Our extracurricular activities include Tumble Gym, Happy feet, and Computer. Perhaps the best part of this unique curriculum—aside from the awesome learning experience it gives kids—is how much parents get to participate in the fun! Since our preschool is conveniently located in the office towers in which many of our parents work, they can drop in often and see what their kids are up to. For those with little ones, the nursery is always available for some lunch-break snuggle time!

My interest in childhood education began when I was young helping my family members care for their children. When I became a mom, I began volunteering at the local elementary school which made me decide to go back to school to get a degree in elementary school teaching. After graduating, I took a job as a daycare teacher and then joined the Cadence Academy family as an infant teacher. Working with children has always been my passion. I love that I get to play a part in their upbringing. In my free time I enjoy watching movies, going shopping, reading cooking and crafting and spending time with my family and pets.
Wanda Walker

Hello! My name is Wanda Walker. I help out all over the school wherever I am needed. I have worked with all ages but my favorites are toddlers and twos. Cadence since 1999. My philosophy of teaching is that a child can be anything they want to be. I love knowing that I can play a big part in their lives helping them to learn and grow. I let them know to never give up and always do your best. Stay away from negativity and reach for the stars!

Hello! My name is Ms. Desennia. I am a preschool teacher and work in all classrooms as needed. I am a bilingual Mexican-American. I am the mother of two girls. I have worked at Cadence since 2016. My teaching philosophy is to always maintain a positive and safe classroom environment.

The National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs (NAC) is a national accreditation program that was developed for early care and educational programs. NAC offers early childhood leaders the opportunity to demonstrate and document quality performance using research-based criteria and evidence-based practices. The National Accreditation Commission provides a comprehensive, ongoing quality improvement system and accredited schools must meet standards in the following 6 component areas: Administration, Family Engagement, Health and Safety, Curriculum, Interactions between Teachers and Children, and Classroom Health and Safety.
