About Cadence Academy Preschool in Sellwood
Cadence Academy Preschool, Sellwood opened in 2011 and has since served 100s of families in SE Portland. Our preschool center has a private children’s garden, naturally designed outdoor playground space, laundry facilities, and a community room for nursing mothers.
Our Sellwood school provides a secure and loving environment for children between the ages of 3 months to 6 years of age and offers daycare services for infants and toddlers and early education programs for preschool and kindergarten students. We seek to enrich children’s lives through our skill-based Ascend Curriculum while developing self-esteem and confidence. Our young students are exposed to creative ways of learning while experiencing arts, music, and dance in an educational and visual environment.

Our Preschool Teachers
One of the strengths of our program is our teachers. We enjoy a low turnover rate and our preschool teachers have years of experience in certified childcare centers. Many of our Lead Teachers have Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education and Early Childhood Education and we require our Lead Teachers to have at least two years of experience working in a daycare center. Our teachers participate in ongoing professional development trainings. Also, our teachers are leaders in their classrooms and help us envision and create affirming experiences for our children and families.
