About Creative Kids Preschool in Mahopac
Creative Kids Childcare Centers are committed to providing young children nurturing learning environments. We offer preschool and child care for children ages 6 weeks through 12 years old. Creative Kids Mahopac first opened its doors in September 2012.
We are proud to lead the way in preparing children for kindergarten. Through our specialized curriculum and dedicated teachers, we strive to ensure that your child is not just ready for kindergarten, but ready to excel. In 2024, 100% of the Pre-K children assessed in our school demonstrated Readiness or Advanced Readiness for Kindergarten!
Our schools are a welcoming place where every child is supported. Our teachers individualize our curriculum so each and every child can develop emotionally, physically, and cognitively. Our directors, teachers, and staff work together to create a warm and nurturing environment where children learn about themselves and the world around them.

Our Curriculum
Creative Kids teaches from The Ascend Curriculum, which leverages research and best practices so that we can take the needs of every type of learner into account. Ascend helps us maintain a high-quality learning environment where every child has the opportunity to become a creative, confident thinker.
Kind Child
Kind Child is a program that focuses on the social and emotional development of our students. We introduce social-emotional skills every month and a new character trait every two months. The goal of Kind Child is to elevate the emotional well-being of every child in our care.
Before & After School
Creative Kids Mahopac has an established relationship with the Mahopac Central School District and we have an excellent before and after school program for elementary students. Our school is a stop on the bus route for the following schools:

Alyssa Howard
School Director
I began my journey in the early childhood education field in 2021 and have since gained valuable experience in a variety of roles, including summer camp counselor, teacher assistant, and site supervisor. These experiences have deepened my passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development.
In May 2025, I proudly stepped into the role of School Director at Creative Kids Mahopac. I’m dedicated to fostering a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can thrive, families feel supported, and teachers are empowered to succeed.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from SUNY Cortland and went on to complete my MBA in Healthcare Management at Stony Brook University. My educational background, combined with hands-on experience in the field, helps me approach leadership with both compassion and strategic insight.
Taneisha Hinds

During my 24 years in the field of early childhood I’ve always enjoyed the sense of wonder young children bring with them into the world wherever they go. I feel it’s such a privilege and honor to be able to guide them and try to understand these young minds, and to create a warm safe and welcoming environment for them to do just that. If I’m able to make a small difference for even one child in my lifetime, it will be my greatest contribution to this world that I do not take lightly. During my free time, I’m usually cleaning, listening to music/trying to sing, going to the gym and helping my young family members when I can. My hobbies include dabbling in interior design, gardening, looking at fashion pages and shopping.

Hi, my name is Ms. Rosio, and I’ve had the joy of being the Toddler 1 teacher at Creative Kids Mahopac for the past four years. I absolutely love creating a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment where our little ones can explore, learn, and grow every day. Watching children build confidence, express themselves, and discover the world around them is truly the most rewarding part of my job. Each day brings something new, and I feel so lucky to be a part of these early, important moments in their learning journey.
