About Creative Kids Preschool in Brewster
Creative Kids has been committed to providing young children safe and nurturing learning environments since we opened our doors in January 2001. Creative Kids Brewster was our first location and we now have five centers that serve families throughout Hudson Valley. Our schools are a welcoming place where every child can grow socially, emotionally, physically, and intellectually. Your child will participate in a wide variety of experiences where they’ll learn about themselves and the world around them.

The Creative Curriculum
Creative Kids utilizes The Creative Curriculum® in our classrooms. The Creative Curriculum® helps our teachers create a high-quality learning environment where children can become creative, confident thinkers. This curriculum is grounded in 38 research-based objectives for development and learning, which support active learning in all developmental areas.
Kind Child Program
Another significant part of our curriculum is our Kind Child program. Kind Child is a year-long program for children ages two and older that helps our teachers nurture and strengthen every child’s social and emotional skills. We have found that when we focus on the emotional well-being of each child in our care, we strengthen our school as well. We are confident that Kind Child will continue to strengthen the culture of our entire preschool center by elevating every child’s feelings of happiness, improving their well-being, and enriching their friendships.
Cadence KickStart™ Soccer
Big Fun. Little Players. Growing Confidence.
Cadence KickStart™ Soccer is a high-energy enrichment program designed to build confidence, coordination, and teamwork through fun, age-appropriate soccer play. Led by the teachers your child already knows and trusts, it’s seamlessly built into the school day.
Program Highlights:
Designed for ages 3–5
12-week program (once per week)
40–50 minute sessions
Builds balance, coordination, and motor skills
Encourages listening, teamwork, and confidence
Integrated into your child’s daily schedule

Before & After School Program
Creative Kids Brewster works directly with the Brewster Central School District to offer local elementary students a before and after school program. Our school is a stop on the bus route for the following schools:
- C.V. Starr Intermediate School – 20 Farm to Market Rd, Brewster, NY 10509
- John F Kennedy Elementary School – 31 Foggintown Rd, Brewster, NY 10509
- Henry H. Wells Middle School – 570 NY-312, Brewster, NY 10509

Our Team
Teresa Rokitowski
School Director
Teresa Rokitowski is the School Director at Creative Kids Childcare Center, bringing 11 years of experience in early childhood education and a deep love for shaping young minds. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Childhood Education and her Master’s degree in Reading and Literacy from SUNY Oneonta. Teresa’s career began in high school as an after-school substitute, where she discovered her passion for the field, and she has since grown through roles as Teacher’s Assistant, Lead Teacher in infant and preschool rooms, UPK Teacher, and Assistant Director before stepping into her current role as Director.
Teresa’s philosophy is child-focused and developmental — she believes in meeting each child exactly where they are and fostering growth without pushing them to reach milestones before they are ready. What she loves most about early childhood education is the joy of shaping little minds into problem solvers, critical thinkers, artists, and empathetic people, while also nurturing their social and emotional growth along the way. She is committed to building personal connections with every child and family and hopes to bring even more support and kindness to an already thriving program.
Outside of work, Teresa is an avid reader who enjoys everything from fantasy to nonfiction, loves crafting and is currently teaching herself to crochet, and has a deep appreciation for music from the 70s and 80s. She also happens to consider Halloween the best time of year — and spends her quieter moments enjoying sunshine and time with her wife and cat.
Karen Whitaker
Assistant Director
Beginning in 1993, my childcare journey has been a dynamic progression from teacher’s aide to lead teacher, then to office support, culminating in my new role as assistant director. Early childhood education captivates me for its role in nurturing children’s growth, communication, and playful learning. Outside work, you’ll find me cherishing family time, hiking with my dog Snickers, enjoying beach serenity, and diving into captivating reads.
