Kelli LaVine
School Director
Kelli has been an integral part of the Miniapple Montessori community since November 2023. She began her journey as an Assistant Teacher, quickly advancing to Activities Director and then Assistant Director, before stepping confidently into her current role as Director. Throughout her time at Miniapple, Kelli has consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, passion, and a strong work ethic. Her deep commitment to the school’s mission, values, and the well-being of both students and staff has made a lasting impact on our community.
Before joining Miniapple, Kelli built a successful career in the entertainment industry, where she held various leadership roles—including running a dance studio, managing a touring Jim Henson show, directing a national dance convention and competition, and serving as a front-end manager at Target. Across all of these diverse roles, one common thread remained: her passion for working with children. That passion has shaped who she is today and continues to drive her work as an educational leader.
Kelli is excited to lead Miniapple Montessori Marcy Holmes into its next chapter and looks forward to growing alongside the children, families, and staff—while creating many more wonderful memories together.

Sarena Phonngavong
Assistant Director
Hello! My name is Sarena! I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Software Engineering and have been part of the Miniapple Montessori Family since 2020. Over the years, I’ve enjoyed growing with the school community and bringing both technical and creative problem-solving skills to my role.
Outside of work, I’m always up for discovering new restaurants and exploring the Twin Cities food scene. Lately, I’ve been challenging myself to get into running—still a work in progress, but I’m learning to enjoy the journey (and the post-run snacks).

Cameo Oman

Hello! My name is Cameo. I grew up in Grantsburg, WI. I studied Child Development and American Sign Language at Saint Paul College before serving as an Assistant in a Children’s House at another Montessori school for three years. In 2018, I completed my Primary Guide training and received my AMI diploma from the Montessori Center of Minnesota.
