Overview

Cadence Academy Preschool, Louisville I was previously called Little Scholars Private Preschool, but we changed our name in March 2018 to reflect our ongoing commitment to providing Louisville families quality childcare and preschool programs. We remodeled our school with new flooring, fresh paint, and lots of other amenities during this transition, but it’s the proprietary programming like Kindergarten Club and Kind Child that truly makes the difference in the lives of our students.

Childcare & Preschool Programs

Kind Child

Kind Child Program LogoKindness is the foundation of our preschool’s culture and Kind Child is 1 of the 9 learning domains within our Ascend Curriculum. Each month, our teachers focus on developing valuable character traits like Thankfulness, Empathy, Friendship, and a Positive Self-Image. We focus on the emotional well-being of each child in our care so that everyone feels welcome and valued.

Food For Thought

Our preschool provides a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks every day, which are included in our standard tuition. We encourage our children to try a variety of healthy foods from all the food groups through our Food For Thought Program. We’ve very picky about our menu choices. Our aim is to nurture both body and mind and pave the way for a lifetime of good food choices.

Safety & Security

The safety and security of the children in our care is always a top concern. We have 14 security cameras inside our preschool center and 2 more cameras on the playground. We have a secure entry system and there is always staff up front to greet family and screen visitors.

Your child’s health and safety are also extremely important to us. Each of our classrooms is equipped with toys, furniture, and equipment that is appropriate for that age group and we have air purification systems in each room too. There’s a covered playground with a large outdoor ship when the weather is favorable and 2 indoor dramatic play houses when it isn’t.

Visiting Our Preschool

Looking for a new childcare center to call home? You can schedule a visit of our preschool online or by calling 502-208-2302. We’re located at 8715 Old Bardstown Rd, which makes us an easy stop if you commute to the Louisville area on U.S. Route 150. We look forward to meeting you and your family!

School Director

Hello my name is Lorrie Craft. I have been married to my wonderful husband Mike for 26 years. We have two sons Brad and Austin. I love them so much; we are a very close family. We enjoy movies, riding go-karts, and family game night. I have been at this location since the doors opened in 2004. I have worked with children for over 25 years. I was a Pre-K teacher at our center then in 2008 I was promoted to be the director. It warms my heart to sing and play with our children. I really enjoy watching all of our children meet their milestones. I feel very blessed to be here at Cadence Academy. I want the very best for all of our children. I am always here for you and your family. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your children’s lives.

Jennie Kreutzer

Hi my name is Mrs. Jennie Kreutzer. I have been married 10 Years to my wonderful husband Darryl. I have two step sons Lee and Jacob. We have a beautiful granddaughter LaDonna. I have been around children all my life. I have been in childcare for 18 years. In 1984 I started working in a three year old classroom and had 12 children in my class. They sure kept me busy! I worked with that age for about 4 years. Then I started working in the office and also helping our in the infant room and loved it. After working at that center for several years they ended up closing the center so I changed my career. I started working at Sears as an office Supervisor and stayed there for 10 years. I really missed working with children, so I decided I wanted to come back to childcare. I started working here in 2008 working in the infant room and absolutely love that age. I love each and every one of them like my own.

My son loves going to "school" everyday! We have never had an issue here. He loves all of the staff and his teachers. I have family that also went here in the past. Most of the staff have been here for years, which is hard to find in a place. I always reccomend them when I hear anyone talking about needing child care.

I was having a hard time wanting to start work and leave my child. We found Cadence Academy and got super excited and then even more excited to find out they were hiring. I figured that would make the transition so much easier! I was very wrong. Babies were left in the crib all day to cry unless it was time to eat or change. They did not want to dump toys out because they did not want to clean them at the end of the day… so for eight hours kids just sat bored. I picked up my child who seemed to of had fun but when we got home I noticed her diaper was so incredibly full. Opened up to change her and she had such a bad diaper rash she was bleeding. We went to the doctor the next day and also found out that she was dehydrated. The dr said she thinks this needed to be reported. I guess playing out in the heat and not properly given her drink caused those issues. When I wrote the director (who is really nice) saying that we would not be back there was no response for days besides an email a while later. I figured a phone call the second the email was received would have been a lot more appropriate. I finally showed up to get my kids items and they were definitely willing to compromise but it was silly that we even had to compromise in the beginning. Then the teacher had enough nerve to say I dropped her off with the diaper rash. Which anyone that knows me knows that is not at all believable. So that definitely put up another red flag. I commented on our local neighborhood page and so many had come forward saying that their kids also had what looked like chemical burns with diaper rashes while there and they either left or had to bring it up to someone higher. It made my decision to pull her out solid. For the money spent you’d think these issues wouldn’t be there. But sadly they are. I now work from home because there’s no way I’m risking that again.

If it wasn't for New Life child care center I don't know where I would be today. I as and older woman raising my grandson ( my baby is 38 years old) and the way things have changed for daycare leaves me baffled at times. The director and assistant director has ALWAYS made time for any and answered all my questions. Katie Watdon is amazing with my grandson. Thank God for New Life child care. I hope I never have to search for another child care center, cause I know I would have to compare them with New Life and they wouldn't even come close. To everyone at the child care center. YA'LL are amazing. I appreciate you everyday. Love my New Life Child Care Center family.
