Welcome to Cadence Academy Preschool in Crestwood, Kentucky!

We offer exceptional child care and early childhood education programs for children ages six weeks old through five-years-old. And, we have added school-age programs to support distance learning for elementary school students.

Our Philosophy

Our team of skilled child care experts dedicates themselves to maintaining an atmosphere that encourages the development and growth of your child as a whole person: physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually.

We accomplish this goal via a non-denominational approach, by attending to each child as an individual, and as part of a group that is also learning to grow and how to relate to others.

Open Door Policy

At Cadence Academy Preschool, Crestwood, we have an Open Door Policy. We encourage you to stop by our early childhood learning center at any time, announced or unannounced, to visit your child.

Our Facilities

Our large 15,000+ square foot early learning center was built to meet the academic and safety needs of Cadence Academy Preschool’s student body. Our state-of-the-art facility features an indoor, multi-purpose room ideal for gross motor development, and for providing an area for indoor play during harsh weather conditions.

We secure our preschool with an electronically-controlled entry, which our management team monitors via classroom cameras. Our early learning center also has a six-foot privacy fence that allows us to offer families peace of mind when it comes to safety and functionality.

Programs Offered:

  • Infant Daycare (ages 6 weeks to 1 year). Our experienced caregivers create positive, warm, and nurturing relationships with your infant in this program.
  • Toddler Daycare (ages 1 to 2). In our Toddler program, we provide a safe, warm, nurturing, environment for your child to grow and learn.
  • Early Learners (ages 2 to 3). Our Early Learners program allows children to learn through their curiosity, questioning, and social interactions.
  • Preschool (ages 3 to 4). In this program, our staff provides an environment that is nurturing, safe, and encouraging for your child to explore and play.
  • Pre-Kindergarten (ages 4 to 5). Our educators help guide your preschooler in this program with activities and lessons that focus on social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs.
  • School-Age Program – Be sure to ask about our new school-age programs!

School Director

I began my career in early childhood education in 2011 with a small non-profit child development center. I am thrilled to continue my future at Cadence Education, and even more to do so alongside the team and families that have supported me so much. I have a big personality that lets me bring a ton of passion to our school. My family consists of my husband, Ryan; our daughter and son, Lilly and Ford; and our beagle, Mustard. When I’m not at the school, I enjoy live music, and just sitting on the porch and slowing down. I love working with children because it allows me to be a part of the village for families in the ways I needed a village as a young mom years ago. Having my daughter led me to early childhood education, and I found it’s where I belong.

Assistant Director

I started working in Early Childhood Education 10 years ago. I started out as a preschool teacher, then at Cadence I was a Pre-K teacher for 5 years, in 2024 I was awarded the Southeast Regional of the Year, and now I’ve moved up to my new role as Assistant Director. I’m excited to keep working with children in this new role! I love how much we shape children during these formative years. We get kids before they’re even talking and then send them off ready to tackle kindergarten. There are so many things children learn during their years in early childhood education. We get to be there for so many of their milestones. In my free time, I like to go to the science center with my son, curl up with a good book (Sarah J Maas books are my favorite), or hang out with my friends.

Admin Assistant

I began teaching 17 years ago,  starting my educational journey at St. Matthews Area Ministries, CDC. I have worked at Cadence Academy for 7 years and hope to continue here for years to come! My family consists of my wife Ash, myself, and our dog Kele. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy reading, catching up on tv shows, being in nature, and spending time with family and friends. I love working with children and started this journey because I wanted to give children a loving and nurturing environment to grow and thrive in, just like I had when I was a child.

It’s been about 4 years since my last review of Cadence. Since then my oldest (now 7.5 years old) graduated pre-K and was more than prepared for Kindergarten. Currently, my almost 5 year old is in the pre-k program and is learning so much and will also be more than prepared for kindergarten in the fall. She loves her friends and all of her teachers. My 2.5 year old runs into her classroom and gives her teacher a hug every morning and rarely even turns around to tell us ‘bye’ because of how much she loves it there. With 7 years spent at Cadence I can honestly say that I have always felt that my kids were safe and treated kindly. I read a couple of the negative reviews and I want to clear up some things for new parents who may be looking for childcare. First, the building always starts out clean in the mornings. Throughout the day with kids going to and from the gym, science room, playground, etc. it’s very common for floors to get a little dirty. There are many days that I pick my kids up within the last 15 minutes of closing and I always see teachers cleaning up their classrooms and anything that may have been dropped in the hallways. If the floors are dirty they are clean by the following morning. Also, there are going to be days when kids get food on their clothes. Unless my kids have a potty accident, I would much rather them wear their food stained clothes home so I can wash just one set of clothes when I get home, versus double the clothes. All of the teachers there are very understanding, so if changing your kid to a new outfit daily after lunch is something you want done, I know the teachers are happy to oblige. The next big issue I saw was regarding staffing and consistency. I will say that there were definitely a couple months of inconsistency. However, it was short-lived and even during that time I always felt that my kids were safe there, which is the most important thing to me. It has been at least 9 months since that spell and the director that came in has whipped everything back into shape. And speaking of the staff, we love every single staff member at Cadence. Most of them know all 3 of my kids’ names, even if they haven’t taught them or they started after my oldest graduated. Our director has done a great job with hiring in the positions that needed to be filled. Unfortunately, our country doesn’t place much value on childcare workers and educators, so until that changes there are always going to be issues with staffing and turnover in all daycares. I feel like Cadence is doing as well as any daycare could do without extra support from our government. If your expectations for a daycare are quiet hallways, pristine floors, and your kids coming home looking like they haven’t moved all day, then you should probably find a different option for your child. But if you want your kid to learn, feel safe, and have fun each day, while maybe getting a little messy in the process? Then I 100% recommend Cadence.

My daughter has been attending Cadence Academy at Crestwood since she was 3 months old, and I couldn’t be happier with our experience. She loves all of her teachers, who are truly the best. The activities they do not only make her happy but also help her learn and grow. Thanks to them, she can already use sign language to let us know when she wants to eat, when she wants more, or when she’s full. She is happy with her friends and really enjoys the delicious meals they provide. Without a doubt, this is the best place for my little one. On top of that, the Fall Festival they organized a few days ago was amazing—my daughter had the best time, and so did I!

My daughter attends the PreK program 5 days a week. She has been attending for almost a year and she has grown and learned so much in that time. She absolutely loves everyone there. Shs has developed relationships with so many teachers and the director there. We are so incredibly happy witb our choice to send her there.

Update: just finishing up 8! Years at cadence through multiple kids. We will miss our Cadence family and both kids were extremely prepared for kindergarten. Thank you to the whole team for loving, teaching and helping raise our family. Xoxo ——- We’ve been with Cadence for almost 2 years now. Our 3-year old loves his teachers and is clearly learning a lot. The school is clean and genuinely cares for the students while making sure they have fun! With 2 playgrounds and a gym, plus extra curricular offerings during the day, my kiddo has a ball!- I recommend this place to all of my friends looking for child care. Update - they just opened back up after COVID shut down and the first week has been fantastic. They are following protocols perfectly and I can't help but love the curbside service. :) Thank you to Sam and team!!
