Sunbrook Academy (formerly Mirror Lake Academy) is a learning environment for students from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. We have been caring for and educating children in the Mirror Lake community in both Douglasville and Villa Rica, Georgia since 2004.
We raise the bar for early learning with our Ascend Curriculum. We challenge our students while encouraging them to express themselves creatively through the arts. In addition to our preschool program, we offer programs for school-aged children including Georgia Pre-K, before school care, The After School Zone and Summer Camp.
We make a strong effort to teach your child the basics of health and nutrition, offering a nutritious menu that provides your child with a component from each food group, from breakfast to lunch with healthy snacks in between.
At Sunbrook Academy, we strive to provide a safe and secure learning environment for your family, using a keypad door entry system as well as a state of the art thumbprint identification system to check your children in and out. We also have a closed-circuit camera recording system that allows us to monitor what our classes are up to at all times.
We provide free transportation to and from Mirror Lake Elementary.
Cadence KickStart™ Soccer is a high-energy enrichment program designed to build confidence, coordination, and teamwork through fun, age-appropriate soccer play. Led by the teachers your child already knows and trusts, it’s seamlessly built into the school day.
Designed for ages 3–5
12-week program (once per week)
40–50 minute sessions
Builds balance, coordination, and motor skills
Encourages listening, teamwork, and confidence

Hi! My name is Breanna Tarbush. I am the Preschool Director here at Mirror Lake. I have worked in early education for 20+ years, most of which have been with Cadence Education.
I live in Temple, GA with my Husband of 20 years and our amazing teenage daughter. I love spending time with my family, going to church, and vacationing at the beach. My daily objective is to live a faith-based life and serve God through the life we are given. Being able to watch children grow and learn is just an extra in this world we live in.
Brandy Green is the Assistant Director at Sunbrook Academy, bringing over 25 years of experience in early childhood education. She began her career in 1998 as part of an afterschool job and has since worked as a lead teacher for one- to four-year-olds, as well as an assistant teacher for Georgia Pre-K. Brandy joined Cadence Education in 2012 and continues to dedicate her work to fostering curiosity, discovery, and confidence in young children. She loves “planting the seeds of learning” and watching them grow, believing that everyone has the potential to flourish with the right love and support. Outside of work, Brandy enjoys reading, DIY projects, outdoor movie nights, and spending time with her family.
Asia Whitfield is the Lead Teacher in Senior Toddler A at Sunbrook Academy at Mirror Lake and the recipient of the 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year award. She has been a valued member of the Sunbrook team since 2022 and holds an Associate’s degree in Early Childcare Education, with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education currently in progress — a reflection of her dedication to growing as an educator.
Outside of the classroom, Asia enjoys listening to K-pop and watching Anime. She is a well-deserving recipient of this recognition, and Sunbrook Academy is proud to celebrate her commitment to the children and families she serves every day.
