The directors, teachers, and staff at Phoenix Children’s Academy Private Preschool, Surprise want your entire family to feel at home every time you step into our preschool. We believe that the care of young children creates a partnership between family and school and we constantly communicate with you about your child’s daily activities and academic progress.
Our playground is an amazing place for young children to explore and play. The kids especially love our covered play areas, basketball court, and our splash pad. We also have a Smart Board, which allows us to engage our preschool students in a variety of educational games in the morning and afternoon.

The Ascend Curriculum
Academic development is always an important part of a preschool curriculum, but we believe that young children need social, emotional, and physical development too. The Ascend Curriculum provides our teachers a balanced framework for engaging our preschool students and we help children reach important milestones in subjects such as Mathematics, Literacy, Cultural Understanding, and Technology every month.
Unlike many preschools where children stay in the same classroom all day, children rotate between our math and science room, creative arts room, and our technology lab on a daily basis. In addition, we separate preschool classrooms into six month age ranges so that students are with children at a similar level of development.
Kind Child
Kindness is the foundation of our preschool’s culture and an important part of our curriculum. Each month, our teachers work with our students to develop social skills, a positive self-image, and important character traits like friendship, empathy, thankfulness, and responsibility. The goal of Kind Child is to elevate the emotional-well being of every child and encourage friendships.
What Makes Our Preschool Unique?
Our school director, has been with our preschool since we opened in 2009. In addition, our teachers collectively have more than 75 years of experience in either a preschool or daycare setting. We all love what we do and have a passion for working in child care!
As a member of the Surprise community, we think it’s important to be involved in community events. We are a proud sponsor of Surprise Parks and Rec and participate in the Surprise Party every December. We also sponsor a day at the local ballpark for spring training, where families come out and have a great time enjoying baseball and ballpark food. We also have fun family events throughout the year including Parent’s Night Out, Trunk or Treat, science fair, and school picnics.

Theresa Albright
School Director
My name is Theresa Albright and I am the school Director at Phoenix Children’s Academy Private Preschool located in Surprise. I have been with the company since 2004. I have been working with children since 1995. I have experience in each age group. I have been a preschool teacher, assistant Director and Director. I have also received my CDA in 2003. Our teachers are very highly trained and take the extra step each year to further their education in early child care. Each teacher takes 24 hours per year in early education courses and trainings. Between management and all the teachers we have over 75 years experience. At Phoenix Children’s Academy we strongly believe in family involvement. We want to make sure you feel like home when you drop your child off to us. Our teachers have great communication with all parents and family. Our lead teachers are here for the majority of the day so you have a chance to speak to them when you pick your child up. We also have daily reports for our infant, toddlers and twos that go home each night. Our preschool teachers also fill out a classroom report each night. We encourage all families to participate in our daily activities when they get a chance. Our school also has family dinner nights, parent’s night out, spring and summer school picnics, open house, game nights and much more. As a part of the Surprise community we think it is very important to be involved in all community events. We are a proud sponsor of the Surprise Parks and Rec. Each year we are a part of the Surprise party in December. We also sponsor a day at the ball park for spring training. This is a day for all of our families to come out and have a great day of baseball and ball park food. There are many activities for the children to do at the game, including a bounce house and face painting. This past Memorial Day our children decorated their bicycles and road in the parade. We won the Silver Surprise Sundancer’s award for our entry in the parade. Each year we are excited to join the city in their Fourth of July celebration. Phoenix Children’s Academy has state of the art equipment throughout our building. Our playground is over 10,000 square feet. We have extended our classrooms outside. The children get the opportunity to play with musical instruments, art easels and science while outside. We also have a splash pad that is used the majority of the year. The children love to use our technology lab. In our technology lab we have computers for the children along with a SmartBoard. The children used the lab each day. At our location we also have rotating classrooms for all of our preschool children. The children get the chance to go through five different rotations throughout the day. Our classrooms include Math & Science, Creative Arts and Language Arts. We are conveniently located on the North West Corner of Reems and Greenway. One mile south of Bell Road. Also located near the 303 loop. We would love to have you and your family come visit our school and meet our family.

Meghan St. Clair
Administrative Assistant
I have taught various age groups in the past 14 years from 6 weeks to 6 years of age. I received My Certificate in Early Childhood a few years ago and love growing my knowledge in Early Childhood each and every day. I am extremely passionate about broadening a child’s mind and helping them thrive in the classroom. I have five children of my own, which is such a rewarding home life and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
