About Phoenix Children’s Academy Preschool in Surprise

The directors, teachers, and staff at Phoenix Children’s Academy Private Preschool, Surprise want your entire family to feel at home every time you step into our preschool. We believe that the care of young children creates a partnership between family and school and we constantly communicate with you about your child’s daily activities and academic progress.

Our playground is an amazing place for young children to explore and play. The kids especially love our covered play areas, basketball court, and our splash pad. We also have a Smart Board, which allows us to engage our preschool students in a variety of educational games in the morning and afternoon.

Our Programs

The Ascend Curriculum

Ascend Curriculum LogoAcademic development is always an important part of a preschool curriculum, but we believe that young children need social, emotional, and physical development too. The Ascend Curriculum provides our teachers a balanced framework for engaging our preschool students and we help children reach important milestones in subjects such as Mathematics, Literacy, Cultural Understanding, and Technology every month.

Unlike many preschools where children stay in the same classroom all day, children rotate between our math and science room, creative arts room, and our technology lab on a daily basis. In addition, we separate preschool classrooms into six month age ranges so that students are with children at a similar level of development.

Kind Child

Kind Child Program LogoKindness is the foundation of our preschool’s culture and an important part of our curriculum. Each month, our teachers work with our students to develop social skills, a positive self-image, and important character traits like friendship, empathy, thankfulness, and responsibility. The goal of Kind Child is to elevate the emotional-well being of every child and encourage friendships.

What Makes Our Preschool Unique?

Our school director, has been with our preschool since we opened in 2009. In addition, our teachers collectively have more than 75 years of experience in either a preschool or daycare setting. We all love what we do and have a passion for working in child care!

As a member of the Surprise community, we think it’s important to be involved in community events. We are a proud sponsor of Surprise Parks and Rec and participate in the Surprise Party every December. We also sponsor a day at the local ballpark for spring training, where families come out and have a great time enjoying baseball and ballpark food. We also have fun family events throughout the year including Parent’s Night Out, Trunk or Treat, science fair, and school picnics.

School Director

I have been working with children since 1995. I started working with children while I was in high school, and I fell in love with it. I was a preschool teacher for over 10 years. I completed my CDA in 2010 and moved to Arizona. I have worked in preschools since 2004 where I have had many positions including teacher, Assistant Director, Director, and Senior Director. I love FOOTBALL the Green Bay Packers. My favorite thing to do when I have extra time is race. I spend most of my free time with my family. Throughout the years I have been able to watch so many children grow. Seeing the excitement of learning. After working with children all this time, I love seeing them all grown up and what they have become.

Assistant Director

I have been working in the Early Childhood environment since 2014. I started out volunteering in the Children’s Ministry at my church. I discovered that I loved working with children and decided that I wanted to make a career out of it. In my free time I enjoy reading, cooking and watching movies with my family and friends.

i recommend this preschool to all of my friends and family! Theresa, Melissa, and Danielle are all incredible. they do an amazing job at running the school. they have been so helpful and reassuring since day 1. it was a huge step for me to put my children in daycare and it’s been such a blessing to be able to trust this establishment to teach and keep my babies safe! from the infant classrooms to the preschool classes, all of the teachers have been amazing. they all treat my babies with the most love and care! Ms. Kristine does an amazing job at everything she does! she constantly washes hands, wipes noses throughout the day, my child never comes home looking messy from food, or anything like that which i really appreciate! she takes so many pictures throughout the day and is really involved when it comes to getting down on the little ones level and playing with them, blowing bubbles, reading books, dancing, she does it all and she does it with grace! Ms. T has also been incredible at teaching my 4 year old curriculum that he is able to understand. she is a fun and energetic teacher who allows toddlers to be toddlers while also still teaching them how to listen to instructions and play amongst friends! the staff has been really amazing to me and my family and i am extremely grateful to have found such a welcoming, safe, and loving school! They also have cameras in each classroom, you cannot enter the building without a unique code, they do a good job at making us feel safe and protected which is extremely important when you’re trusting others with your children! 10/10 recommend

I cannot say enough good things about this place! It’s the first childcare facility in 4 years that I have felt comfortable having my daughter attend. She’s happy every single day to go in and even gets upset when she has to leave lol. It’s extremely clean, all of the employees I have encountered have been very nice, they prioritize the children’s health and safety and for my child especially, they are very patient and actually listen to your advice as a parent on how to navigate certain things with your child. This would 100% be the only place I would have allowed my daughter to come to as a baby. There are cameras almost everywhere and parents have access to them to keep an eye on your little whenever you need to. It makes things a little less stressful when you know your child is in good hands!

My daughter has been here for nearly 2 years now and it was Miss Claire that really sold me on this place. My daughter has thrived here and even though she is no longer in Miss Claire's class, she continues to treat my daughter as one of her own.

We are very pleased with Phoenix Children’s Academy! Our three year old is in Miss Claire’s class and she is such an amazing teacher. She is attentive, caring, and takes time everyday at pickup to inform us of how the day went. Our little guy is always excited to talk about what he learned and/or what art projects they worked on!
