Our Mission
Our mission is to help students cultivate a love of learning. We believe the best way to support the development of early academic skill is to give children some control over their learning process. We continually offer our students a variety of fun educational activities and encourage them to select the activities they’re going to participate in.
Flexibility is also built into the framework of our Ascend Curriculum and gives our teachers the freedom to modify activities to fit the interests and current skill level of each student, which makes learning more engaging and fun!
Kind Child
Kind Child is an important part of our monthly curriculum and the foundation of our school’s culture. The goal of Kind Child is to improve the emotional well-being of each child in our care through the development of valuable character traits such as Empathy, Responsibility, Respect, and a Positive Self-Image. Our teachers focus on developing social-emotional skills each month and a different character trait every two months. The result is a preschool environment where every child feels welcome and valued.
Partnering with Our Parents
We believe that building partnerships with our families is an important aspect of childcare because we become an extension of your family every time you walk through our doors. We are committed to growing this partnership through multiple communication avenues including parent-teacher conferences, written assessments, and daily face-to-face communication.
We have an open-door policy for all enrolled families and we welcome you to visit your child whenever you see fit. We also enjoy seeing our families come together during annual events like our Fall Festival, Sweetheart’s Breakfast, Snow Day, Donuts with Dads, and Graduation Ceremony.
Our Preschool’s Location
Phoenix Children’s Academy Private Preschool, Estrella Mountain is nestled in the heart of the Estrella Mountain Ranch community in Goodyear, Arizona. Our beautiful campus includes two outdoor playgrounds and a splash pad with an amazing view of the West Valley. We are located at the intersection of Elliot Road and Estrella Parkway and we proudly serve families living in Goodyear, Buckeye, and Avondale. Stacylynn Caristo
Director
Hello there, my name is Stacylynn and I am the proud Director here at Estrella PCA! I joined the Cadence (formally Phoenix Children’s Academy) team in 2013 and have truly enjoyed being part of this family. I love that PCA has allowed me to help shape the minds of the future while using my creative genes! My husband and I have been married for 12 years and we have of two amazing children, Addison,8, (my free spirit who keeps me on my toes) and Rocky, 1, who lives up to his name- he just rolls with life. We have a few random pets that we love like they are our own children and keep things exciting. Our life is crazy and should be televised but I am sure everyone says that! I love my job because it allows me to be creative and think outside the box. We love to plan and prep fun and educational events for the children, but even “winging it” is great too! I work great under pressure and truly enjoy making our school a home. Stop by and see us “Up the Hill!”
Evangelina Parrilla

Hi, my name is Evangelina Parrilla and I’m proud to be a part of Phoenix Children’s Academy. I joined the company in 2010 as a Preschool Threes Teacher and worked my way up to an Assistant Director. I grew up in Arizona, graduated from Agua Fria Union High School, and attended EMCC for Sign Language. I’ve been teaching for over 20 years and it’s been an amazing journey working with children. I love seeing them grow and learning new things every day.
When I’m not at PCA, I enjoy traveling, shopping, and having some family time with my wonderful husband, Luis. My husband and I have been married for 12 years, but we’ve been together for 17. We have a sweet, strong-minded toddler whom I call my little blessing named Julian, along with an 8 yr old Maltese/Poodle, and several tropical fish, so our life is very busy.
My goal as an Assistant Director is to provide you with security and to create a positive, safe environment where your child can prepare for the future. I believe young children learn best through play and being creative in their own way, having fun every step of the way. I look forward to meeting you and helping you along the way.

Hello, let me introduce myself. I am Marisa Guerra and I am an Early Learner Preschool teacher here at Phoenix Children’s Academy. I have been in childcare for over 15 years and with our Estrella location since we opening in 2011. Teaching children is my passion. I love working with children and watching them change and grow each and every day. Not only am thrilled to be a member of our PCA family, I am so excited to be part of the Estrella Mountain Community. I look forward to getting to know you and your families so that I may share my excitement with your children! When I am not working I enjoy working around the lake and spending time with my husband of 15 years and our beautiful children, Isabel (14 years) and Antonio (10 years).

Hola! My name is Maria de Lourdes Encinas and I have the Nursery teacher here at Phoenix Children’s Academy. I have been married for 25 wonderful years and have 4 sons. My family means the most to me and I truly love my job at PCA. I have worked in the childcare field since I gradated high school and love working with children. I believe that children are our future and should be guided toward the right path and shown a great deal of love. Please stop by and say hello!
