Welcome to Kids Connection Childcare, Rawson!
Kids Connection offers a childcare program that focuses on the children and their individual needs. We follow the Wisconsin Model for Early Learning Standards which fosters social and academic learning. We take pride in the service we provide and look forward to making a difference in the life of your family!
Why Kids Connection Preschool
We have been providing quality early childhood education and care to families since 2000. We believe that a positive early childhood experience is crucial to a child’s development. Our programs are designed to help children learn at their own pace. Group activities are designed with the developmental needs of each age group in mind. A good deal of time is allotted for children to explore the various interest centers in their classroom.
Providing a program that fosters early educational learning, positive social interaction and working to achieve age appropriate milestones helps prepare our children for their future.
We provide a nurturing and socially stimulating environment for children according to their age and individuality. We believe childhood is the beginning of many life adventures, and we provide the care that makes the difference.
At Kids Connection we understand that children learn in a variety of ways. As much as they can learn within our walls, they’ll learn an equal amount through their personal experience outside of our walls, in the community.
Ascend Curriculum
Our Ascend Curriculum develops academic, physical, emotional, and creative skills and features activities in subjects such as Cultural Understanding, Baby Signs, Literacy, Mathematics, and Technology. We find that children learn best when activities are geared towards their interests. Our teachers are encouraged to individualize activities and engage in small group instruction so they can better respond to the needs and interests of each child. Even the youngest children in the infants program can benefit from the Ascend Curriculum.
Cadence KickStart™ Soccer
Big Fun. Little Players. Growing Confidence.
Cadence KickStart™ Soccer is a high-energy enrichment program designed to build confidence, coordination, and teamwork through fun, age-appropriate soccer play. Led by the teachers your child already knows and trusts, it’s seamlessly built into the school day.
Program Highlights:
- Designed for ages 3–5
- 12-week program (once per week)
- 40–50 minute sessions
- Builds balance, coordination, and motor skills
- Encourages listening, teamwork, and confidence
- No prior soccer experience needed
- Integrated into your child’s daily schedule

Kids Café Preschool Cooking Program
Cooking Up Confidence, One Recipe at a Time
Kids Café is a hands-on cooking program where children explore new foods, build confidence, and develop essential life skills through fun, guided kitchen experiences.

- Weekly sessions over a 12-week program
- Hands-on cooking activities and kid-friendly recipes

Katie Kooi
School Director
Hello! My name is Katie and I have been working with Cadence since August 2022. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology from UW-Eau Claire. I then went on to earn my Masters in Cultural Foundations of Education and Child Care Administration with a specialty in American Sign Language at UW-Milwaukee.
I have been working in the childcare field for the last ten years while finding my home as the School Director here at Kids Connection. I am passionate about exceptional education and building trusting partnerships with families that we serve. I strive to create a positive environment while bringing an upbeat energy into daily interactions. In my free time, I enjoy practicing photography skills, gardening, and spending time outdoors with my family.
Viviana Ramirez
Assistant Director
Hello! My name is Viviana Ramirez and I have been working at Cadence since August of 2022. I have my Associate’s Degree in Arts, a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology Pre-Counseling from Capella University. I also have an infant and toddler credential through the American Montessori Society.
I have been working in childcare for the last ten years. I helped start up our school on August 8th, 2022. I was awarded teacher of the year and promoted to third in charge in 2023. I accepted my role as assistant director in June 2024. My strengths as an Assistant Director include school management, being respectful and kind to the children and teachers, and building strong relationships with the families. I am passionate about providing exceptional care and peace of mind to families. My goals as an Assistant Director are to help develop a positive school culture and providing a diverse learning environment. In my free time I enjoy cooking, swimming, and spending time with family.

Teacher of the Year
Hello! My name is Nikki and I have been working at Cadence since July of 2023. I have my Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sports Science. I have been in childcare for eight years. My strengths as a teacher are my leadership skills and dedication to the Ascend curriculum. I was promoted to third in charge in 2024 and awarded teacher of the year 2025. I am passionate about providing a safe and nurturing classroom environment for the children. In my free time I enjoy reading, and spending time with my husband, my son Damian, and our two dogs.
