A Peek Inside Our Classrooms

Our preschool also offers multiple, age-appropriate learning environments, as well as an outdoor learning environment for students to enjoy.

Toddlers

The toddlers in the “Butterflies” room enjoy an open structure classroom, allowing each child to explore and learn about the world around them. They participate in daily art and sensory activities, singing and story time, and active outside time. The two- and three-year- old toddlers in the “Caterpillars” classroom begin to experience successes in potty training, as well. They enjoy daily art and sensory activities, music and story time, outside time, and structured play.

Preschoolers

The preschoolers in the “Dragonflies” classroom love learning through play and a host of fun activities. Their curriculum includes a “Letters of the Month” program, which allows them to practice recognition, sounds, and writing individual letters. Their structured day allows development of independence, creativity, and imagination within a consistent schedule to promote a safe, secure atmosphere.

Pre-Kindergarten

The Pre-Kindergarteners in the “Busy Bee’s” classroom will learn literacy, vocabulary, math, problem solving, and fine and gross motor skills. Independent and cooperative learning opportunities guided by our skilled, nurturing teachers serve to strengthen social skills, equipping your child to enter kindergarten with confidence.

Mahala Griffen

Mahala Griffen

Teacher

Mahala was born in Oregon where she lived until she was 9 years old. Once Mahala was 9 her family moved to Washington to be closer to her dad’s family. She is the youngest of 3 girls. When she was younger, her family decided to take on something that her dad loved doing which was riding quads. Mahala started riding when she was 4 then when she turned 6 Mahala started racing. She started out with flat-track then worked her way up to motocross. Now she dedicates her free time to motocross in the summer and flat-track in the winter with trail riding on her off weekends. Mahala has found a passion for teaching children many things that she struggled with when she was younger which brings her to why she started working with kids. Throughout Mahala’s education, she struggled to understand what she was being taught. She realized how much she was struggling and wondered if anybody else struggled as much as she did. Mahala wants to make sure children get as much help as they need so they can thrive. Mahala plans to further her education to eventually become an elementary school teacher. Currently, she is enrolled for a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.
