About Bundle of Joy Early Learning in Richmond, VA
Bundle of Joy’s early learning center in Richmond, VA is designed to serve the needs of the child and family. We recognize ourselves as partners to the parents, working together to help encourage each child to progress at his/her own pace. Our early childhood education program teachers encourage positive self-confidence, self-esteem, competence in self-help skills, and those inner controls and language abilities necessary for effective social interaction.
Our programs emphasize the process of learning and discovery through age-appropriate activities. Daily activities are designed to encourage young learners to act upon their environment. We provide an environment rich in materials to explore, manipulate, and discuss. Children are guided to question, discover, think, and reason. No single area of development is stressed above another. Bundle of Joy promotes the growth of the whole child, emotionally, physically, socially, and intellectually.
The best way to describe Bundle of Joy is that we are focused on excellence in quality of care, education, and best practice in the area of early childhood education. We work with state and local Richmond area agencies, other local preschools and early education programs, as well as higher education programs to help us evaluate our programs. We create a learning community where children develop skills as building blocks to the next level of education.
Our Programs
Bundle of Joy provides Infant, Toddler, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Afterschool care services to approximately 600 children and employs approximately 125 staff members. We are and continue to remain focused on ways to best meet the needs of the families of Virginia.
When you visit any of our schools you will quickly see we are not a daycare. We are very much a school offering structure and opportunities for creativity. With the help and partnership of our families and wonderful, dedicated staff members, we are able to do what we love to do each day by providing a place where children can grow and learn while they are in a safe and nurturing environment.
We believe that developmentally appropriate early childhood experiences foster wonder and a life-long love of learning. We also believe that children build upon their existing knowledge through inquiry and shared experiences. Therefore, we strive to provide authentic learning opportunities through creativity and purposeful play.

Heather Schneiderman
School Director
I was the assistant director for 3 years before moving up to director. I have my bachelors in psychology from Touro College in New York. I have been working in early childhood education for many years started off in babysitting, camp counselor, teacher, assistant director, director. One thing i like about early childhood education is seeing the excitement in the kids when learning new things. In my free time, i enjoy spending time with my 2 sons, reading, watching Tv, hanging out with friends, listening to music. I would like my families at Cadence and co workers to all know that I am here for them and they can always come to me.
Angela Orlando
Assistant Director
I am Angela Orlando or “Mrs. O” and I have been with Bundle of Joy since 2008. I started as a Toddler Assistant Teacher and in October 2018 I was promoted to Assistant Director. I earned my Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Penn Foster College in April 2018. I enjoy watching young ones learn new concepts through hands-on activities. In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, reading, and traveling.
Kimberly Wakefield
Office Assistant
Kimberly has her CDA in Early Childhood Education specializing in Infant/Toddler. She loves working hands on in the classroom setting and watching those little minds grow and learn. Kim started in early childhood education in 2019 after years of nannying. She started in the younger 2’s and moved up to the older 2’s after a few months and was there for 6 years before moving up to office assistant. She would like all of her co-workers and families at Cadence to know that she is a safe space for all. She hopes they all feel comfortable enough to come to her with all things whether good, bad, and anything in between. Fun fact: Kim is getting married November 2025 to her fiance Nick. In her free time she likes to do interior design, crafting, going to the park with her pup, hitting the gym, and reading. She recently got into customizing shoes for weddings.
