Kari Hicks

School Director

I moved to Mechanicsville June of 2020. I have three children, Alaina, Sylvie and Timothy. I began my early childhood education journey in high school and have been in it ever since. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education Leadership Cum Laude September 2022. My favorite thing to do is travel, and my favorite destination (so far) is Thailand. I can’t wait to see more of the world and enjoy the culture each place has to offer. My passion for creating safe and loving environments for children is deeply rooted in my own childhood experiences with adversity. I believe that every child deserves a place where they are surrounded by adults like the ones I needed as a child. They should feel cherished and secure. It is my heartfelt mission to provide a nurturing space where young minds can flourish, learn, and thrive. Through my role, I aim to instill joy, love and a sense of belonging in each child.

Mary Gibson

Assistant Director

I grew up in Mechanicsville and love raising my children in Hanover County. I have been married for 10 years and we have two wonderful children Abby and Finnley. I started in the early childhood field in 2009 and have been with Bundle of Joy since 2018. Fun fact, I left Bundle of Joy in April 2023 and started a new career in a field completely unrelated to child care, but quickly realized this is where I should be and returned in February 2024! As an assistant director, I am dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive. Growing up as an only child, I developed a deep love for children and a strong desire to make a lasting impact in their lives. My goal is to foster an atmosphere filled with love and support, ensuring that every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

Porsha Bosher

I am a mother of three children Quan, Kaylar, and Kaden. I’m the oldest of five children. I love spending time with my family and friends and chasing after my youngest that has the most energy in the world. I used to babysit and started my childcare journey in high school and I been working with children since. I’ve worked here at Bundle since 2012. My passion for working with children is fueled by own life experiences. I have always been driven by a deep desire to spread love and kindness wherever I go. I believe that every child deserves to feel cherished, nurtured, and safe. My mission is to create a warm and supportive environment where children can thrive, and to give each child the love they deserve and need.

Lorrie Billups

Assistant Director

My name is Lorrie. I love helping children thrive in a loving and safe environment. It’s been over 20 years since I started working in childcare. My goal is to continue this journey for a very long time. As an assistant director, my primary goal is to ensure that everyone around me feels safe and valued. I am committed to acknowledging the needs of others and providing support in any way I can. By fostering a sense of belonging and connection, I aim to create an environment where everyone feels needed and empowered to thrive.

Carmen Monjaras Aleman

Teacher of the Year

I am Mexican and have lived in this wonderful country for 24 years. I am married and have 3 wonderful children. I am an “empty nester”. I love to go to the movies, shopping, and spending time with my family. I am a native Spanish speaker. I have been working in the same room for 18 years. My dream was to work with young children, but because of life circumstances, I majored in Computer Systems. But, now, I am happy working with Toddlers. All of my career has been with the toddler age group. I love working with children and their families.

Carmen exemplifies patience, kindness, and a genuine passion for working with the toddler age group. Her nurturing spirit and commitment to fostering a loving learning environment make her truly deserving of this special recognition.
