About Winwood Leesburg
Parents that send their kids to Winwood Children’s Center, Leesburg enjoy peace of mind knowing their children are receiving quality childcare that develops the body and the mind.
We take a skill-based approach that balances social, emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive development through our Ascend Curriculum. Our nurturing teachers constantly engage our young students in fun educational activities and build new skills within the following subjects every month: Creative Expression, Kind Child, Literacy, Science & Sensory, Mathematics, Technology, Cultural Understanding, Physical Fitness, and Spanish/Baby Signs.

Kind Child
Our staff is dedicated to establishing nurturing relationships with our students and our Kind Child program is a great way to nurture every child’s social skills and feelings of self-worth. We want our students to feel welcome and at home every time they walk through our doors and the goal of Kind Child is to improve the emotional well-being of each child in our care. Each month, we focus on the development of social-emotional skills and valuable character traits such as Responsibility, Respect, Thankfulness, and a Positive Self-Image.
School-to-Home Connection
Preschool children thrive when there is a strong partnership between parents and school. Winwood Leesburg has an open-door policy in which parents can visit at any time and stay for any length of time they feel is necessary. Our teachers maintain verbal and written communication so that you’re aware of your child’s day and their progress towards important developmental milestones. We also regularly host family events such as Chili Cook-Offs, Family Movie Nights, and Parents’ Night Out!
Cadence KickStart™ Soccer
Big Fun. Little Players. Growing Confidence.
Cadence KickStart™ Soccer is a high-energy enrichment program designed to build confidence, coordination, and teamwork through fun, age-appropriate soccer play. Led by the teachers your child already knows and trusts, it’s seamlessly built into the school day.
Program Highlights:
- Designed for ages 3–5
- 12-week program (once per week)
- 40–50 minute sessions
- Builds balance, coordination, and motor skills
- Encourages listening, teamwork, and confidence
- No prior soccer experience needed
- Integrated into your child’s daily schedule

Kids Café Preschool Cooking Program
Cooking Up Confidence, One Recipe at a Time
Kids Café is a hands-on cooking program where children explore new foods, build confidence, and develop essential life skills through fun, guided kitchen experiences.
Program Highlights:
- Designed for ages 3+
- Weekly sessions over a 12-week program
- Hands-on cooking activities and kid-friendly recipes
- Builds teamwork, sharing, and communication skills
- Encourages problem-solving and following directions

Winwood Children’s Center, Leesburg is at the corner of Battlefield Parkway and Miller Drive at 301 Virginia Wildflower Terrace SE, Leesburg, Virginia, 20175. We’re less than a mile from both VA-267 and US-15.

Bailey Murphy
School Director
Bailey Murphy joined the Winwood Leesburg family in 2013. She was originally a Lead Teacher in our Toddler Program before taking over the Junior Kindergarten Program in 2014, where her passion for teaching flourished! Bailey completed the Cadence Leadership Training Program in 2015 and trained closely with her management teams before being selected to take over the position of Assistant Director in July of 2017 and promoted again to School Director in August of 2022. Her strong knowledge of child development and attention to details has made her an important asset to our team. Bailey holds a B.S. in Human Development (emphasis in Child & Family Studies) with a minor in Psychology from Lee University. She is a huge advocate of our Kind Child Curriculum and truly believes that respect and meaningful relationships are the foundations for effective education. Bailey lives in Brunswick, MD with her husband and two young boys. On the weekends you can find her playing football in a social league, coaching T-Ball, and cooking new recipes.
Syrena Brinkman
Assistant Director
Syrena Brinkman joined our Leesburg Winwood family in 2015. She holds a Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in Special Education. Syrena was a Lead Teacher in our Pre-K program before taking over the Junior Kindergarten Program in 2017, where she was known for making learning tangible by transforming her classroom into a Target Store to learn about money or having children create their own astronaut helmets for their space unit. Syrena completed the Cadence Leadership Training Program in 2021 which prepared her to be promoted to Assistant Director in August of 2022. Syrena has a strong passion for teaching and working with young children and enabling them to be successful academically and emotionally. Syrena lives in Leesburg with her two pit-mixes, Millie and Mila.
Becky Lyons
Teacher
Ms. Becky Lyons has been a part of the Winwood family since we first opened in November 2008 – over 10 years! Becky loves working with all ages but has found the Preschool II Program is where she excels. Becky has established a wonderful reputation among our families, having taught many children and siblings throughout her time here. She is encouraging, patient, and committed to helping each child uniquely as they begin their early Preschool journey. Becky’s favorite part of working with this age is watching children discover and learn new things for the first time. In her downtime, Becky enjoys camping, hiking, reading, cleaning and organizing. She is also a proud dog mom to her fur baby, Wicket.
