In 2025, the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 2 and provided $1 billion in funding to create the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program and give parents greater freedom and flexibility in choosing the best educational environment for their children. The TEFA program, administered by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, is expected to be the largest day-one school choice initiative in the nation.
Our preschool programs are proven to place young children on the fast track to academic success. When children enter kindergarten, it isn’t necessary for them to know the names of all the dinosaurs or planets. What’s important is that they know how to cut with scissors, recognize letter shapes, follow directions, effectively communicate their feelings, complete simple math problems, and play well with their peers. That’s why a skills-based education is so important. We are proud to lead the way in preparing children for kindergarten. Through our specialized curriculum and dedicated teachers, we strive to ensure that your child is not just ready for kindergarten, but ready to excel. In 2024, 100% of the Pre-K children assessed in our school demonstrated Readiness or Advanced Readiness for Kindergarten! The Cadence Academy Daycare program is designed for children 6 weeks to 2 years old. We provide a structured environment that helps children learn and grow while they are away from home. Our daycare staff is highly qualified and experienced in early childhood education, and they are dedicated to providing each child with the individual attention they need to thrive.
The Cadence Academy Preschool program is designed for children 3 to 5 years old. Our preschool curriculum is based on the Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines and helps prepare students for Kindergarten. Our teaching staff is highly qualified and experienced in early childhood education, and they are dedicated to providing each child with the individual attention they need to thrive.
Young children have an endless capacity to learn! At Cadence Academy’s The Colony school, we believe that the most impactful way for young children to develop skills is to give them some control over their learning process. We offer our preschool students a variety of playful educational activities and encourage them to select what they want to participate in.
Thanks to the flexibility of our Ascend Curriculum, we take an individualized approach to early childhood education and encourage every child to progress towards age-appropriate goals at their natural pace. New skills are introduced sequentially in 9 different learning domains each month and activities are modified to fit the interests and current skill level of each child. This skill-based approach to early education ensures that every child feels engaged, supported, and challenged and makes learning fun!
Another significant part of our curriculum is our Kind Child program. Kind Child is a year-long program for children ages two and older that helps our teachers nurture and strengthen every child’s social and emotional skills. We have found that when we focus on the emotional well-being of each child in our care, we strengthen our school as well. We are confident that Kind Child will continue to strengthen the culture of our entire preschool center by elevating every child’s feelings of happiness, improving their well-being, and enriching their friendships.

I have worked at Cadence since 1995. I was born and raised in Germany and went to school there to study Office Administration and Translation. I am fluent in German. Each day that I work at this school is an exciting adventure. I enjoy working with all the children and families.
This year marks my 10th year at Cadence Academy Preschool, and it has truly been an incredibly rewarding journey. Working with children is my passion—I love being a part of their early learning experiences and watching them grow, explore, and thrive each day. Over the years, I’ve built strong, lasting relationships with both the children and their families, and it brings me great joy to help create an environment where families feel safe and confident leaving their little ones in our care. Cadence has become like a second home to me, and I’m proud to be part of a team that puts children’s safety, development, and happiness first. I’ve been a part of Cadence Academy Preschool for almost a decade, and during that time, I’ve had the pleasure of working in several classrooms, gaining experience with children of all ages.
