In 2025, the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 2 and provided $1 billion in funding to create the Texas Education Freedom Accounts (TEFA) program and give parents greater freedom and flexibility in choosing the best educational environment for their children. The TEFA program, administered by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, is expected to be the largest day-one school choice initiative in the nation.
Cadence KickStart™ Soccer is a high-energy enrichment program designed to build confidence, coordination, and teamwork through fun, age-appropriate soccer play. Led by the teachers your child already knows and trusts, it’s seamlessly built into the school day.

Thanks to the flexibility of our Ascend Curriculum, we take an individualized approach to early childhood education and encourage every child to progress towards age-appropriate goals at their natural pace. New skills are introduced sequentially in 9 different learning domains each month and activities are modified to fit the interests and current skill level of each child. This skill-based approach to early education ensures that every child feels engaged, supported, and challenged and makes learning fun!
Another significant part of our curriculum is our Kind Child program. Kind Child is a year-long program for children ages two and older that helps our teachers nurture and strengthen every child’s social and emotional skills. We have found that when we focus on the emotional well-being of each child in our care, we strengthen our school as well. We are confident that Kind Child will continue to strengthen the culture of our entire preschool center by elevating every child’s feelings of happiness, improving their well-being, and enriching their friendships.
Preparing your child for success in kindergarten is an important part of our promise to you and a recent study showed that nearly two-thirds of our pre-kindergarten students were Advanced Ready for kindergarten.
Our curriculum and dedicated teachers work hand-in-hand to progressively introduce skills that will serve your child in elementary school and beyond. We work towards important milestones within nine different subject areas at every age level and fine-tune certain skills just before kindergarten in our Kindergarten Club program.

Kelley Carr is the School Director at Cadence Academy Preschool. She earned her degree in Elementary Education from Missouri State University and has been passionate about early childhood education since the late 1990s. After starting as a 2’s teacher in 2010, Kelley quickly moved into leadership and joined the Cadence family in 2023.
She believes early childhood education is more than what can be taught from a book—it’s about heart, dedication, and shaping the future of young learners. Outside of school, Kelley enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling with her husband, Matt, and their two children, Amara and Asher.
Meridoc Henderson is the Assistant Director at Cadence Academy Preschool, bringing six years of experience in early childhood education to her role. She began her career at a family-owned school before joining the Cadence Academy team four years ago, where she has continued to grow and develop as an educator and leader.
Meridoc is passionate about helping shape the minds of young leaders, believing that today’s children are tomorrow’s future and that fostering positivity and encouraging ambitious learning makes all the difference. She is deeply dedicated to her school, her team, and the families she serves, and she looks forward to continuing to learn and grow alongside them. Outside of work, Meridoc is a proud wife and mom to a little boy, and her weekends are happily filled with sports and family time. When she gets a moment to herself, she enjoys reading, baking, and exploring new creative hobbies like painting and crochet.
Cirila Pena is proud to be celebrating her 40th year with Cadence, including the past five years at Timbercreek. Kindness is at the heart of everything she does—whether it’s greeting each child with a smile, supporting her teammates, or creating a warm and welcoming classroom.
She loves keeping her students engaged in activities that spark curiosity and build confidence. For Cirila, the little things—like bringing treats for her class or lending a helping hand—are just as meaningful as the big milestones. Her greatest joy is knowing that every child in her care feels safe, loved, and ready to thrive.
