About Cadence Academy Preschool in Charleston, SC
Welcome to Cadence Academy Preschool in Charleston, South Carolina. We believe in making the most of your child’s first educational experiences, so we continually balance the development of academic, social-emotional, and physical skill. We offer full-time daycare services for infants and toddlers and full day and half day preschool programs that are proven to get your child excited and ready for the transition into kindergarten!
Our preschool campus has three shaded playgrounds where students regularly participate in outdoor activities, a garden area where the children grow vegetables and flowers, and a shaded picnic area where we all enjoy Charleston’s beautiful weather. And, as elementary schools are altering schedules, we are here to serve your needs and the needs of your school-aged children with enhanced programs to help with virtual learning sessions and more.

Ascend Curriculum
The Ascend Curriculum takes a unique skill-based approach to early education that you won’t find outside our family of schools. Most preschool curricula are either all play or overly rigid and scheduled. Our curriculum meets in the middle by having a flexible framework that continually builds valuable skill sets while still leaving lots of room for fun and play.
Our teachers focus on specific skills within nine subjects every month. We often move at a challenging pace, but we encourage our teachers to modify activities to match the needs, interests, and current skill level of each student so that these first educational experiences are engaging and fun!
Our School Age Programs
Cadence Academy Preschool, Charleston has a number of excellent programs for kindergarten and elementary school students from 5 to 12 years old. We offer before and after school care for students at three elementary schools during the school year and a full day program over school breaks and during Summer Camp.
We provide transportation to and from Drayton Hall Elementary School, Oakland Elementary School, and Springfield Elementary School. Spots are limited, so please contact us to confirm availability. And, as elementary schools are altering schedules, we are here to serve your needs and the needs of your school-aged children with enhanced programs to help with virtual learning sessions and more.

School Director
I started in early childhood education when I was just 20 as I enjoyed working with children. I was a 2-year-old teacher and have been promoted throughout my career. While I enjoyed being in the classroom, being on the management side has shown me a different side. I now enjoy being able to help my teachers with ideas that will challenge a child a little more. Watching the milestones that each child makes and seeing them hit a goal is so rewarding. Seeing the “lightbulb” come on and watching their excitement is the biggest reward ever. In my free time, I like to binge Hallmark and Lifetime movies and spending time with my daughters.

Assistant Director
Upon completion of high school I started my career in early childhood. I began as Teacher and was recently promoted to the assistant director. I like that early childhood education is the foundation for what children will grow up to become.
In my free time, I enjoy shopping and traveling.
Ivette Soto
Teacher of the Year
I started working in early childhood education in 2021 and I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience over the years. Early childhood education provides a safe environment for young kids/babies and encourages interaction with co-workers and families. It also builds meaningful bonds and connections. In my free time, I take walks and spend time with my family. I like to build with legos and paint.
