About Cadence Academy Preschool in West Linn, OR
Cadence Academy Preschool provides a positive, loving, and nurturing learning environment for young children. Our programs are designed to enhance what children naturally love to do… learn! Our indoor and outdoor environments were specially designed to give each individual child opportunities to learn and grow in beautiful surroundings. Preschool aged children will be offered opportunities for independence while using aspects of Montessori such as Practical Life and Sensorial materials in addition to our proprietary Ascend curriculum.

Ascend Curriculum
Thanks to the flexibility of our Ascend Curriculum, we take an individualized approach to early childhood education and encourage every child to progress towards age-appropriate goals at their natural pace. New skills are introduced sequentially in 9 different learning domains each month and activities are modified to fit the interests and current skill level of each child. This skill-based approach to early education ensures that every child feels engaged, supported, and challenged and makes learning fun!
Kind Child Program
Another significant part of our curriculum is our Kind Child program. Kind Child is a year-long program for children ages two and older that helps our teachers nurture and strengthen every child’s social and emotional skills. We have found that when we focus on the emotional well-being of each child in our care, we strengthen our school as well. We are confident that Kind Child will continue to strengthen the culture of our entire preschool center by elevating every child’s feelings of happiness, improving their well-being, and enriching their friendships.
Getting To Our Preschool
Our West Linn center is located at 19393 Willamette Dr, West Linn, OR 97068, near Cedaroak Drive in the Robinwood area. We are conveniently close to Cedaroak Park Primary School and Mary S. Young Park, making morning drop-offs and daily routines seamless for neighborhood families.
Situated directly along Highway 43 with swift access to I-205, our preschool provides an effortless commute. It is an ideal stop for caregivers traveling toward Lake Oswego, Oregon City, or Downtown Portland.

Jessica James
School Director
Jessica James, School Director at Cadence Academy Preschool, West Linn, attended Flathead Valley Community College in Kalispell, Montana, and the University of Montana in Missoula, Montana. She loves meeting kids where they are and watching them progress at their own pace. It’s beyond fulfilling to witness their character take shape as they gain the confidence to try something new or master a skill. Jessica started in ECE in 2022 as a Program Director and earned her Associate’s in ECE in 2025. She moved to Oregon in 2026 to keep growing as a leader in this field, and is excited to bring that passion here. In her free time, she loves road trips of all kinds. She enjoys crafting food for friends and family, and is always up for a good sporting event. She loves learning about nutrition and history and a great cup of coffee.
Avi Lee-Petzak
Administrative Assistant
Avi has been working with children in one way or another since she was in high school. The majority of her professional experience has been in early childhood. She has worked as a toddler teacher with 1 and 2 year olds, in a preschool position with Head Start, and elementary with 1st and 5th grade. She is excited to be in a position where she can still play an important role in an educational setting and apply my skills in a different way. She enjoys helping children become more independent by learning new skills and experiencing new things. In her free time, she reads and crafts, mostly cross stitching. She also likes to play a wide variety of video games and loves to support her local Jazz radio station and my local library.
