About Cadence Academy Preschool in West Linn, OR

Cadence Academy Preschool provides a positive, loving, and nurturing learning environment for young children. Our programs are designed to enhance what children naturally love to do… learn! Our indoor and outdoor environments were specially designed to give each individual child opportunities to learn and grow in beautiful surroundings. Preschool aged children will be offered opportunities for independence while using aspects of Montessori such as Practical Life and Sensorial materials in addition to our proprietary Ascend curriculum.

The Ascend Curriculum is designed to develop your child’s cognitive, physical, social-emotional, and creative abilities. Skill-based learning has been proven to help students think critically, learn to solve problems, and become more independent, so they can succeed in elementary school and beyond.

I love engaging with the children and being a part of their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and development journey. I also enjoy supporting and mentoring the teachers and watching them shine. I started working in early childhood education when I was 18, I had my daughter and wanted to be where she was. The plan was to follow her as she grew but I couldn’t see myself leaving after falling in love with these little ones (6 weeks to 4 yrs old). I wanted to be a part of their lives as well. I started out as an aide and became a teacher soon after. I had the most fun teaching pre-kindergarten, I spent most of my years with that age group before moving up to administration. I was an assistant director for several years before moving up into the director position. It was as a director that I found a larger purpose. I was no longer just in charge of 12 kids, but instead was a role model and leader for the entire school.

It’s so hard to know what to expect from a new daycare/preschool, even after touring and reading all the reviews and obsessing over all of the details. When we moved to the West Linn area, we toured nearly every daycare and preschool we could find. We had spreadsheets! And when we walked into Cadence Academy, we felt a certain warmth that was undeniable. We read some not-so-favorable reviews that allude to changes that have occurred since this former Beloved Montessori school was taken over by Cadence Academy, a corporate entity — and we did worry a little bit that this may affect our child’s experience (and ours). While we’re sure this transition has been difficult for families involved, we have not felt the effects as a newer family coming in, and we couldn’t be more pleased to say that we’ve had nothing but positive experiences with everyone in/at/around Cadence. Our son adores his teachers, loves his classroom and all the activities he participates in (snack time, gymnastics, the kid-sized swing outside, sprinkler time, and dance parties). His routines and preferences are taken into account at every turn, and we are given daily updates via an app on exactly what he’s up to and how he’s doing. His teacher is easy to reach, communicative, kind, supportive, and loving. The leadership at Cadence Academy and the staff seem to genuinely care, and this means the world to us. We are happy to say we feel so fortunate to have found this sweet, safe, warm, and happy environment for our son to thrive in.

We love beloved! I have two boys who are now 2 and 3 years old. Both have only ever attended beloved when we discovered them when my oldest was 6months old. Both of my kids started at 6 months in the infant room, and now they are in the toddler and soon to be in the early childhood classrooms. That means with this review I can confidently say- both infant classrooms run by different teachers were amazing. Both toddler classrooms are also great and I’m already looking forward to my oldest moving into the EC class where that teacher has already made an effort to introduce herself and make us feel welcome. There was a recent change in the director and he is fantastic. He is there every morning at drop off and available to chat anytime- I routinely get email communication from him and my children's teachers. The school meal program is also fantastic! They receive morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack which are always a variety and healthy options. I could continue to say great things but I’ll cover the basics- beloved is clean, organized, friendly and extremely educational. I feel not only that my kids are well cared for but that they truly benefit and learn each day in their classrooms.

We are fortunate to have such a wonderful school in our community. The teachers and administrative team are wonderful. The environment is relaxed and welcoming, teaching is individualized. To say we feel "at home" is an understatement.
