School Director

I love engaging with the children and being a part of their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth and development journey. I also enjoy supporting and mentoring the teachers and watching them shine. I started working in early childhood education when I was 18, I had my daughter and wanted to be where she was. The plan was to follow her as she grew but I couldn’t see myself leaving after falling in love with these little ones (6 weeks to 4 yrs old). I wanted to be a part of their lives as well. I started out as an aide and became a teacher soon after. I had the most fun teaching pre-kindergarten, I spent most of my years with that age group before moving up to administration. I was an assistant director for several years before moving up into the director position. It was as a director that I found a larger purpose. I was no longer just in charge of 12 kids, but instead was a role model and leader for the entire school.

Administrative Assistant

I began working in early childhood education when I was 19 years old, without the expectation that it would turn into a career.  I started out as a part-time floater, and through the years I worked my way up to different managerial positions both in and out of the classroom. Helping parents as they navigated the early years was also very important to me. I always enjoyed working with children and supporting their growth, but I truly fell in love with the work that was pouring into my fellow teachers. Supporting a teaching team of young men and women was both rewarding and fun – every day felt like I was making my community a better place. I still feel this way all these years later. Being a part of the admin team at Cadence is a new adventure that I’m excited to be on.

My 1-year-old daughter has been at Cadence Academy in West Linn since Winter 2024, and we’ve been so happy with the care she receives. As first-time parents returning to work, choosing childcare was nerve-wracking. We had done our research, toured a couple of other preschools in our area, and came across Cadence. Initially, we didn’t know what to expect, since we had read some of the mixed reviews. But from the moment we walked into Cadence, the environment felt warm, calm, and welcoming. The rooms were clean, the babies looked happy, and it just felt right—and it’s been the best decision. The staff and director, Stephanie, are genuinely kind and accommodating. They follow my daughter’s routines for naps and meals, and we love getting daily updates and photos through the app. The teachers have been incredibly supportive, even helping with physical therapy exercises for her delayed development. We love that they provide healthy and nutritious meals, that there’s plenty of outside play throughout the day, and that they encourage creativity through art projects. Most importantly, my daughter is happy and well cared for. We feel very lucky to have found Cadence, and we highly recommend it!

Our daughter has attended Cadence for 2 years now and she loves going to school. Mr. Henry has been wonderful, teaching with care and compassion and creating an environment our daughter is excited to be in every day. She has learned so much in her two short years and is developing great social skills. We highly recommend Cadence Academy.

My children attend Cadence Academy, and they both come home with smiles. Miss Emma, my son's infant teacher, is exceptional. She exhibits patience, care, and a consistently cheerful demeanor. My son is fond of her and is developing well under her guidance. Mr. Henry, my daughter's toddler teacher, is remarkably creative and consistently designs engaging activities. My daughter enjoys her time in his class. The teachers are wonderful and my kids love them all. They are quick communicators who share lots of photos and updates throughout the day. I love that their program offers art, creative play, nutritious meals, the opportunity to learn about different cultures, etc. I love how much time they spend outside playing and learning. Would highly recommend them.

I thought I'd hop on and give Cadence a five-star review after the first couple months of our daughter's enrollment. We moved to town mid-year with a few life changes happening simultaneously. It took our daughter a bit of time to totally adjust, but along the way, the teachers, staff, and director at Cadence were extremely supportive and communicative, and always seemed very in tune with what our daughter was experiencing. There have already been many cute events and extra-mile type things that Cadence has done to involve families. They also just held parent-teacher conferences which I wasn't expecting for a preschool, but was super happy to have the opportunity to do. It's not cheap to make that happen and shows their commitment to the children's success and wellbeing. I'm very happy with our experience so far.
