Our preschool and daycare center is located just south of Woodstock in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood of SE Portland. Our building was originally built as a nursery school in 1968 and we put our preschool facilities through an extensive remodel before opening as Cadence Academy Preschool, Brentwood in 2005. Our classrooms are designed to engage your child in an early learning experience unlike any other and we provide fun, educational childcare and preschool programs.

Commitment to Quality (C2Q)
Cadence Academy Preschool is committed to providing quality care to families in Southeast Portland and we’re happy to have earned the Commitment to Quality (C2Q) designation through Oregon’s Spark program. Spark was created to raise the quality of child care and early learning programs across Oregon. The foundation of the Spark process is continuously improving the quality of care being offered to Oregon families and the C2Q designation shows that our child care center has a solid track record with state licensing agents and that we have taken steps to improve our quality of care.
Our Preschool Facilities
Cadence Academy Preschool, Brentwood is one of our smaller childcare centers and because we have low teacher to student ratios, we provide your child more one-on-one experiences with both teachers and peers. We do not allow drop-ins, which allows your child to create stable friendships in a safe, secure setting. Each classroom is light and bright and features comfortable reading areas, dramatic play centers, sensory areas, and plenty of room for gross motor activities. We also have a beautiful, secure playground. When the weather permits, we enjoy walking across the street to Brentwood Park for more outdoor fun.
Open Door Policy
We have an open door policy and actively encourage parent involvement in our preschool community. You can participate by reading to the children, helping in our garden, attending school events, or joining us on field trips.

Cadence Academy Preschool, Brentwood is conveniently located at 7103 SE 60th Ave, Portland, OR 97206. We’re located just north of SE Ogden St on SE 60th Ave across from Lane Middle School and Brentwood Park. We’re a favorite of families living in Woodstock and Brentwood. School Director
My name is Estera and I have been with Cadence now for over 11 years. I started off as the Lead Toddler Teacher and worked my way up to becoming the schools, Director. My desire to work with small children began at an early age. I am grateful to Cadence Education for sharing their family with me! I enjoy walking into work each day being greeted by the smiles from our little ones and their families. My passion is teaching young children to become independent, caring, and responsible individuals by providing positive guidance, nurturing relationships, and exceptional education.
In my spare time, I love to spend it with family & friends doing anything relaxing. Also, on my weekends I like to find new coffee shops, be outdoors, listen to music, watch some Netflix and get some down time to myself.
Sarah Crooms
Assistant Director
I have been with Cadence for 5 years. I started in the toddler classroom, worked my way to the Preschool/Pre-K room and then the Assistant Director. I truly believe that I have found my home. This is my true passion, and I love what I do. One of favorite things about coming to work is to hear my kids yell “Teacher Sarah Here” excitedly. I love to walk into one of our other two classrooms and have kids excited to tell me what they did that day. I love to provide our families with fun-filled days with exceptional education. Whether it’s a family engagement, graduation, birthday celebration or one of the many celebrations we have within our school year I love to put on celebration and connect to our Families through our school. Outside of work you can find me outdoors as much as our beautiful state will allow. In my family we have a saying that life is always an adventure, and we love adventures! The beach being my favorite place, we usually take an annual or two trip there. If I am not on an adventure with my family, reading is my second favorite pastime. Between all of that I research family genealogy both for my family and friends. I’m a mother of three beautiful grown children; they are the light of my life. An auntie to two little girls and a new baby boy. I was born and raised in Portland, and I have spent time living in the Dessert of California.

I have been working at Cadence Academy Preschool for over 13 years. I love cooking, reading, and playing outside with the children. Outside of work, I like to go to the beach, travel, garden, and cook new recipes. I hope to work here for many more years!
