About Creative Kids Preschool in Yorktown Heights

Creative Kids Childcare Centers is committed to providing children from 6 weeks to 12 years old safe and nurturing learning environments. We offer preschool and child care programs at five schools throughout Hudson Valley and our first center opened its doors in January 2001. Creative Kids Yorktown Heights was our second location and opened in August 2006.

Our directors, teachers, and staff are dedicated early childhood professionals who work together to create an early learning environment where every child feels at home. Our curriculum is flexible and individualized, which allows us to respond to the needs of each child as they develop emotional, physical, and intellectual skills.

Our Curriculum

Creative Kids utilizes The Creative Curriculum® in our infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten programs. The Creative Curriculum® enables every child to become a creative, confident thinker because it’s grounded in 38 researched-based objectives. These objectives are based on school readiness standards and research has shown them to be predictors of future academic success.

Kind Child

Kind Child LogoKind Child is an important part of our culture at Creative Kids. Our Kind Child program is a proprietary program that helps young children develop their character and social skills. We focus on a new social-emotional skills every month and a character trait like Responsibility, Thankfulness, and Friendship every two months. Our goal is to elevate the emotional well-being of every child in our care.

School-Age Program

Creative Kids Yorktown Heights offers an excellent before and after school program for elementary students who attend schools within the Lakeland Central School District. Our school is a stop on the bus route for the following schools:

  • Benjamin Franklin Elementary School – 3477 Kamhi Dr, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598
  • George Washington Elementary School – 3634 Lexington AVe, Mohegan, NY 10547
  • Thomas Jefferson Elementary School – 3636 Gomer St, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598
  • Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School – 3417 Old Yorktown Rd, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598

I cannot say enough positive things about CK. My two children have been attending this daycare for several years, but over the last year the growth and development we've seen in them is truly remarkable. Donna and Bri are the true definition of a tag team duo! From the moment we enrolled, the staff has been incredibly welcoming, professional, and genuinely caring. The environment is nurturing and stimulating, providing a perfect balance of structured learning and free play. My children have thrived in this setting, developing both academically and socially. They come home excited to share what they've learned and the new friends they've made. Donna, Bri, & the whole team at CK, are exceptional. They take the time to understand each child's unique needs and personality, ensuring that everyone feels valued and supported. The communication with parents is also top-notch, with regular updates on our children's progress and activities. Safety and cleanliness are clearly a priority at this daycare, which gives us peace of mind. The facilities are always spotless, and the protocols in place are thorough and well-executed. Overall, CK has played a significant role in our children's early development, and we are incredibly grateful for the positive impact they have had on our family. I love this daycare. I was worried about finding the right place for both my youngest full time and oldest when needed that was close and affordable. After speaking with Bri over the phone I knew this was the right choice. She did all she could to get us enrolled quickly. Once I met Donna I was even more thankful. The kids are happy and the staff have smiles on their faces when I see them outside before the door opens and when I walk in. You can tell they love their jobs and love the kids. Thank you to all the teachers, Bri and Donna for always putting your best foot forward and loving our children. Thank you Jesus!

Creative Kids in Yorktown is great! Ms Donna and Ms Bri are always so welcoming in the morning during drop offs, they are so attentive to the kids and know them all by name, and always make time in their hectic days to talk with the parents if needed. We started at Creative Kids when my daughter was an infant ( “who has now moved on to toddler room) and her little brother is now in the infant room. I cannot say enough great things about infant room teacher, Ms Lorraine; she made the original transition for this new mom better than I could’ve ever imagined and my mind is at ease knowing that my babies were/are always in good hands. Now my daughter is in the toddler room and we love Ms Rosio and, more importantly, so does my daughter! She is hands on, does various developmental and physical activities with the kids and my daughter looks forward to seeing her each morning. Also, Ms JoJo is amazing!! Her enthusiastic personality brightens up the day, not just for the kids, but every time I see her too! Overall, Creative Kids has been a great place for my kids and we look forward to continuing our children’s care there.
