About Cadence Academy Preschool in Sewell, NJ
For more than 35 years, Cadence Academy Preschool (formerly Bright Beginnings) in Sewell, NJ has been offering comprehensive childcare programs for children ages 6 weeks through 6 years old. We offer a learning environment in which children develop confidence, compassion, and encouragement for each other. Cadence Academy Preschool’s early childhood program curriculum exposes children to life skills, language development, fine and gross motor skills, arts and crafts, music, and movement, science, and mindful breathing.
We believe children are partners with us to create the best learning environment. Unlike traditional daycares, Cadence Academy Preschool Program focuses on skill-building and education, while still encouraging free expression. We create a safe environment that is a combination of direct instruction, learn through play, and of course, fun!!

Our infant care program invites children starting at the age of six weeks up to 18 months. Though leaving your little one for the first time is a big step, our nurturing environment is designed to feel just like a home away from home. Choosing our program ensures your baby receives personalized attention that supports their earliest developmental milestones.
Toddler Care
Our toddler care program invites children starting at 12 months up to 3 years old. Though toddlers are full of boundless energy, our environment is designed to channel that curiosity into safe exploration. Choosing a program that balances hands-on learning with guided play is a key step in fostering your child’s emerging independence.
Preschool
Our preschool program invites children starting at 3 years up to 5 years old. Though we introduce early academic concepts, we believe that learning happens naturally through open-ended play. Choosing our preschool environment helps build the essential “I can do it” confidence that serves as a foundation for their future education.
Pre-Kindergarten
Our Pre-Kindergarten program invites children starting at 4 years up to 5 years old. Though the focus shifts to kindergarten readiness, we ensure the preparation remains engaging and stress-free. Choosing our specialized curriculum ensures your child is academically and socially prepared for a smooth transition to elementary school.

My passion for working with children began with a dream of becoming a teacher, and that passion continues to grow every day. I’ve been a proud member of the Cadence Academy family for over 14 years, where I cherish the opportunity to collaborate with families and staff to inspire a lifelong love of learning. Outside of work, my husband and I are the proud parents of three grown sons and share our home with three dogs and a cat. Last year I experienced the joy of becoming a grandmother for the first time—welcoming my granddaughter truly filled my heart. In my free time, I love cooking for my family and relaxing with a good movie.
Susan Gorgodian
Teacher of the Year
I have been teaching for over twenty years, and I’ve been with Cadence Academy since 2014. For the past two school years, I’ve been voted “Teacher of the Year.” Before joining the Cadence Academy Preschool Family, I taught grades ranging from Preschool to 7th grade, however, preschool is my favorite grade to teach. As a teacher, it’s my mission to instill a love for learning and I teach with passion so that my students develop a desire to become life-long learners. I received my bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from Rowan University and my master’s degree in educational leadership from Neumann University. I also hold both Elementary and Preschool Certifications with the State of New Jersey. Outside of school, I enjoy taking yoga classes, going to Phillies games, and spending time with my husband Wes and our two cats Timothy and Elizabeth.
