Lil’ Explorers Childcare Center is a preschool serving the Plymouth area of Minnesota. Established in 2003, Lil’ Explorers Childcare Centers continue to provide a safe environment for children centered on exploration and development.

Our expansive facilities offer plenty of room for your children to learn, grow, and develop, while our caring staff provides a nurturing and enriching atmosphere. Each facility features Infant Rooms, Toddler Rooms, Preschool Rooms, dedicated and Pre-Kindergarten Rooms, along with a large gross motor room inside each location.

It is the mission of our childcare staff to provide top-notch service for all families and provide an enjoyable and exciting time for all children in our care.

The Ascend Curriculum

Ascend Curriculum LogoWe believe that every student is a unique individual who deserves to be treated with respect. The flexibility built into our Ascend Curriculum allows us to create individualized learning experiences for each child and our teachers focus on developing new skills in subjects such as Literacy, Baby Signs, Spanish, Art, Science & Sensory, and Technology every month. Activities can be modified to match the interests and current skill level of every child and we teach through play so our students treasure these first learning experiences and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Kind Child

We nurture friendships, cultivate positive character traits, and strengthen social skills through our Kind Child culture. Kind Child is an integral part of our Ascend Curriculum and we focus on social and emotional skills every month and the development of a new character trait such as Friendship, Empathy, and a Positive Self-Image every two months. The result is a positive and supportive preschool environment where every child feels welcome.

Lil’ Farmers Enrichment Program

Lil’ Farmers is our nutrition program that focuses on health, nutrition and community involvement. We incorporate aspects of the “Farm to Childcare” initiative by partnering with local farmers for fresh and local products. We feature a new fruit or vegetable each month from a list of the farmers seasonal crops. Our students will explore the food through taste, texture, and smell, while learning about where the food was grown in our community. Lil’ Farmers program will help children build lifelong healthy eating habits, so they can become real life farmers too!

We have had our daughter enrolled at the Plymouth Location since it opened. The center is always clean and organized. The teachers are great. It's fun watching our daughter grow up and move to new class rooms and dealing with all the different staff. I am amazed everyday when she gets home with all the new things she learned that day. Its wonderful to see how Nicole (the director) is with all the Children and Staff and wants them to all flourish!!

We were only able to be here for a short amount of time, but coming from the daycare center we had been attending previously which we did not get a good feeling about from the start, I have nothing but great things to say about the Lil Explorers Plymouth Location. Our 6 months old daughter attended the infant program, and we knew we would love this center from our first tour with Andrea at the Rogers location. We signed-up before the Plymouth center even opened because we wanted to make sure she had a spot (I actually chased Andrea down in the parking lot the same day to enroll, sorry Andrea 😂) Her teachers were so wonderful to work with, they send so many pictures and updates, communication is quick and easy if you have a question or concern or just want to check in on the day, and their staff continues to work with the company, bringing experience and giving your baby consistency in caregivers which was really important to me and seems hard to find these days. Her teachers even have their own babies enrolled in care at the same facility, which says something to me as a mom. Having her here was the first time I dropped her off at school and didn’t worry endlessly about her. People told me daycare teachers were miracle workers before we started, and I believe it. They got her to nap well, eat well, and helped us continue to teach her to hit certain milestones. When she rolled for the first time, they took a video and sent it so we could see, which was so appreciated. (its hard not to be there for those things in person, so that was really thoughtful). The facility/room is always clean, and there are so many toys (and all in great shape/condition). They do fun activities too - we got our first-ever piece of artwork for her! (Which I was ridiculously excited to hang on my fridge). They sanitize often to keep kids as healthy as they can, and they are very ‘by the book’ on labels and sleep safety, which I loved, because sleep stuff is scary (especially as a first time mom). Given current rates in the area, we found Lil Explorers to be a great price for full-time care. Other reviews have said it for other locations and I agree – they could charge much more for the quality of care you receive. I think most importantly, every day I arrived here to pick her up she was happy, smiling, CLEAN, and I know she had a good day because I can see it on her daily report as well as get a lowdown from her teachers. The only reason we have dis-continued care here (for the time being) is due to a very tough year for our family. If the timing wasn’t what it was, she would still be going and loving it every day. We hope at some point, we can come back and re-enroll her at this location. Huge thanks to everyone here, and very much recommended to other parents for your babies.

Visited this place earlier this year and they clearly forgot we had a tour setup. On top of that, when we said we were looking to start in January both employees present at the time visibly scoffed and laughed at the notion they’d have an opening then. The tour lasted all of 5 minutes and when we asked the person giving us a tour what the next steps were to get on the waiting list they told us to wait until it’s closer to when we want to enroll (?!). We only were able to get the correct info on next steps for the waiting list once we met with the supervisor. We decided to apply and provided a deposit of $359 primarily because of the lower price, but recently we ended up finding something closer to our home and so I called to cancel our application yesterday. They informed me that the deposit is non-refundable which was stated on the application. They are pocketing $359 of our money without our daughter stepping foot in that place, but the bigger issue I have with this policy is that I was giving nearly FIVE months notice in advance of our start date that we were cancelling our application. Be warned that this place is part of a corporation with capitalistic practices and policies. The staff, including the supervisor, were suspect from the start, and even though you pay less here you certainly get what you pay for.
