About Best Friends Learning Center in East Wareham, MA
Since 1997, Best Friends has been committed to providing excellence in child care and education. Licensed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Early Education and Care Department, we offer a nurturing environment where children grow, learn, and form lasting friendships. At Best Friends, your child’s journey of discovery and enrichment begins with us.
Our Programs
Infants
Our infant program provides a safe, nurturing, and clean environment where babies can explore independently, interact, and build trust with their caregivers. Caring educators work closely with parents to ensure continuity of care, nurturing each baby through their developmental milestones. Daily “heart-to-heart” time includes feeding, snuggling, singing, reading, playing, and laughing to foster a secure and enriching environment.
Toddlers
Toddlers are natural explorers, and our program is designed to fuel their curiosity. Classrooms feature safe, age-appropriate furniture and toys, promoting active engagement and learning.
- Curriculum: Monthly calendars and newsletters keep parents informed of classroom activities. Interactive, hands-on lessons enhance social, emotional, language, and cognitive skills through story time, singing, and games. Weekly Music and Movement lessons, taught by a certified teacher, encourage participation and physical activity.
- Outdoor Play: Toddlers enjoy running, climbing, sliding, sandbox play, and bike riding.
- Daily Reports: Parents receive daily updates on mood, meals, diapering/toileting, and other activities.
Preschool
Our preschool program introduces children to a world of learning, fostering language, social, emotional, and critical thinking skills. The program builds a strong academic and literacy foundation to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Educators engage children with responsive conversation, daily reading, and writing practice.
- Curriculum: Based on the Massachusetts Department of Education Guidelines for Preschool Learning, our curriculum integrates science, math, writing, literature, and social studies. Weekly Music and Movement lessons with a certified teacher are included. Monthly calendars and newsletters keep families informed.
Before and After School (Ages 5-8)
Our before and after school program offers a safe and structured environment for school-age children.
- Curriculum: Activities include outdoor play, puzzles, games, creative projects, and supervised homework time. Children enjoy group storytelling and a variety of snacks.
- Focus: The program fosters a positive self-image through social interaction, cooperation, conflict resolution, and relationship-building. Children learn to use their free time creatively, productively, and safely.
Each program is thoughtfully designed to meet the developmental needs of children at every stage, ensuring they feel supported, challenged, and loved.

Talia Coronella
Program Director
I have been working in the field of Early Childhood Education for eighteen years, twelve of which have been as a program director, and I have been the program director at Best Friends Learning Center since 2016. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education and hold a Director II certification from the Department of Early Education and Care.
My favorite part about working with children is their brutal honesty and their ability to bring a smile to anybody’s face without even trying. I pride myself on getting to know each child individually, and their families, because each child brings something special to our school. My incredible teachers and myself work hard to create an environment where each child feels safe and welcomed, while learning and having fun!
When not at work, I enjoy spending my free time with my husband and our eight children at the beach, out on the boat, enjoying the outdoors or at various youth sporting events!
Jodi Susi
Teacher of the Year
Miss Jodi has been with Best Friends Learning Center since 2020, where she started as a teacher assistant and worked her way up to earning her teacher certification with the Department of Early Education and Care, and has been our lead Pre-k teacher for the last three years.
Miss Jodi is adored by all the children and families in her classroom, both past and present and well respected by her fellow colleagues. She brings a passion for fun and enthusiasm to the classroom, while strongly preparing her students for kindergarten. Her gentle and soft demeanor, dedication to the students in her classroom, building lasting relationships with families and her desire to have fun while teaching and learning all earned her Best Friends Learning Center teach of the year!
We are excited to watch Miss Jodi continue to grow as an educator and cant wait to see what her future holds in Early Childhood Education
