About Our Daycare and Preschool In Taylor Mill, KY

Cadence Academy Preschool in Taylor Mill, Kentucky was previously known as Abby’s Child Enrichment Center, but we changed our name to reflect our ongoing commitment to providing Taylor Mill families with quality child care and preschool programs. It’s the proprietary programming like Kindergarten Club and Kind Child that truly makes the difference in the lives of our students.

We have a highly qualified teaching and care staff at our Taylor Mill preschool and provide a loving and comfortable learning environment where students feel at home. We offer different daycare and preschool programs to meet the needs of every family. All of our programs are designed to provide a well-rounded preschool experience and prepare your child for kindergarten.

Here are the programs we offer at our Taylor Mill daycare and preschool center for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years:

Another significant part of our curriculum is our Kind Child program. Kind Child is a year-long program for children ages two and older that helps our teachers nurture and strengthen every child’s social and emotional skills. We have found that when we focus on the emotional well-being of each child in our care, we strengthen our school as well. We are confident that Kind Child will continue to strengthen the culture of our entire preschool center by elevating every child’s feelings of happiness, improving their well-being, and enriching their friendships.

Food For Thought

Our preschool provides a nutritious breakfast, lunch, and snacks every day, which are included in our standard tuition. We encourage our children to try a variety of healthy foods from all the food groups through our Food For Thought Program. Our preschool menu includes items like fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain bread, rolls, and pasta, low-sugar yogurt and cereal, and much more. We’re very picky about our menu choices. Our aim is to nurture both body and mind and pave the way for a lifetime of good food choices.

Safety & Security

The safety and security of the children in our care are always a top concern. We have security cameras throughout our Taylor Mill preschool center, including coverage of the playground. We have a secure entry system, and there is always a staff member up front to greet family and screen visitors.

Your child’s health and safety are also extremely important to us. Each of our classrooms is equipped with toys, furniture, and equipment that is appropriate for that age group, and we have air purification systems in each room

too. We love outdoor learning, and there’s a playground for outdoor play when the weather is favorable and indoor play spaces when it isn’t.

Preparing Your Child for Kindergarten

The Cadence Academy Preschool Ascend curriculum is designed to prepare your child for kindergarten. We believe that a well-rounded preschool experience is important in encouraging lifelong learners, so we focus on nine learning domains: Literacy, Math, Science, Physical Fitness, Creative Expression, Social-Emotional Development, Cultural Understanding, Technology and Language.

Ongoing student assessments help to ensure that children are on the right path at a pace that they are comfortable with. In this way, your child will be ready for the academic challenges of kindergarten, and they will also have the social and emotional skills they need to be successful in life.

Getting To Our Preschool

Located at 710 Valley Square Dr, Taylor Mill, KY 41015, our center sits just off Old Taylor Mill Road. We are moments from Taylor Mill Elementary School and Taylor Mill Pride Park (currently closed for the day), making morning drop-offs seamless for neighborhood families.

With immediate access to the Donald H. Rolf Circle Freeway (I-275), our location ensures an effortless commute. This prime position allows parents quick, direct travel heading north into neighboring Covington or across the river into downtown Cincinnati.

I started in Child Care when I was 16 years old working as a floater/closer after school. I have been a teacher and now a Director for the last 33 years. Working in Early Childhood Education means giving children the right start and foundation for learning that will set them up for later success. The passion that drives me is the sheer joy of seeing children learn and accomplish things. In my free time I like to enjoy time with my family. I have two granddaughters and they are my world. We are always on the go and exploring new things and creating lifelong memories.

NAC Accreditation

The National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs (NAC) is a national accreditation program that was developed for early care and educational programs. NAC offers early childhood leaders the opportunity to demonstrate and document quality performance using research-based criteria and evidence-based practices. The National Accreditation Commission provides a comprehensive, ongoing quality improvement system and accredited schools must meet standards in the following 6 component areas: Administration, Family Engagement, Health and Safety, Curriculum, Interactions between Teachers and Children, and Classroom Health and Safety.

Kentucky All-Stars

We are proud to boast that our programs maintain a high star rating by Kentucky All Stars, Kentucky’s voluntary quality rating system for licensed Type I and Type II child care centers and Certified family child care homes. All STARS levels surpass the minimum licensing requirements that all participating programs must meet. Kentucky All Stars provides parents with a tool to help identify levels of quality when seeking a childcare setting outside of their home. Childcare centers and family childcare homes participating in Kentucky All Stars demonstrate a commitment toward providing quality care and education. Parents can use the rating system to gain an understanding of the factors that contribute to quality care and education, and can choose a child care setting that best matches their family’s needs. Kentucky All Stars represents a collaborative effort to ensure that young children in Kentucky are in early care and education settings that are seeking ever-increasing quality.
