We are proud to lead the way in preparing children for kindergarten. Through our specialized curriculum and dedicated teachers, we strive to ensure that your child is not just ready for kindergarten, but ready to excel. In 2024, 100% of the Pre-K children assessed in our school demonstrated Readiness or Advanced Readiness for Kindergarten!

Kind Child
Kind Child is a favorite program of our parents, children, and staff because it helps us bring kindness into our daily interactions. Kind Child focuses on social and emotional development and is one of the core subjects within our monthly curriculum. Our teachers introduce emotional skills every month and focus on important character traits like a Positive Self-Image, Responsibility, and Respect every two months. Our goal is to uplift the emotional well-being of our students and enrich friendships!
A School That Feels Like Home
Vibrant colors and busy designs are often overstimulating to young children and can lead to behavioral issues. Our preschool center has homelike learning environments to reduce tension and to help our children transition more successfully from home to school. We use natural tones and soft elements like pillows, fabrics, carpets, and soft lighting to create a nurturing environment where children feel at home and thrive.

Programs Offered
Infant Care
Our infant care program invites children starting at the age of six weeks up to 18 months. Though leaving your little one for the first time is a big step, our nurturing environment is designed to feel just like a home away from home. Choosing our program ensures your baby receives personalized attention that supports their earliest developmental milestones.
Toddler Care
Our toddler care program invites children starting at 12 months up to 3 years old. Though toddlers are full of boundless energy, our environment is designed to channel that curiosity into safe exploration. Choosing a program that balances hands-on learning with guided play is a key step in fostering your child’s emerging independence.
Preschool
Our preschool program invites children starting at 3 years up to 5 years old. Though we introduce early academic concepts, we believe that learning happens naturally through open-ended play. Choosing our preschool environment helps build the essential “I can do it” confidence that serves as a foundation for their future education.
Pre-Kindergarten
Our Pre-Kindergarten program invites children starting at 4 years up to 5 years old. Though the focus shifts to kindergarten readiness, we ensure the preparation remains engaging and stress-free. Choosing our specialized curriculum ensures your child is academically and socially prepared for a smooth transition to elementary school.
School-Age Program
Our school-age program invites children starting from kindergarten up to 12 years old. Though the school day ends, our support continues with structured before and after school care. Choosing this program provides a safe space for homework and relaxation that fits perfectly with your family’s busy routine.

Our Team
Rickeesha Martin
Assistant Director
Rickeesha Martin is the Assistant Director at Cadence Academy Preschool, bringing 21 years of passion and experience to the field of early childhood education. She attended Moore Traditional High School and went on to earn her CDA in Louisville, Kentucky. Throughout her career, Rickeesha has taught children from twos through preschool and has served as a Team Supervisor, in addition to working as a substitute for Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS). She has been part of the Cadence team since 2014.
Rickeesha finds the greatest joy in being part of children’s learning and social experiences — sparking young minds, supporting them as they reach important milestones, and creating an environment where they can thrive. She is dedicated to building strong relationships with both children and families. Outside of work, Rickeesha enjoys spending time with family and friends, along with her interests in jazz music and traveling. She is grateful to step into this new role and to continue being part of the ongoing success of the Cadence family.
