The After Zone
The After Zone serves children ages 5 to 12. Our program supplements the child’s regular school hours by offering morning care, at which time breakfast is offered, and afternoon care. The 4000-square-foot facility is truly a child’s dream after school “hang out” and we even provide transportation between your child’s school and the After Zone. Nine cameras are distributed throughout the facility for safety and security and can be viewed throughout the time that the children are present. The After Zone features:
- Library equipped with Mac computers, large oak tables for doing homework, leather sofas, and a fireplace
- The bakery area was designed with child-height cabinets and counters where the children have supervised access to snacks and milk or juice
- Diva room decorated with a zebra rug, Pottery Barn mirror and vanity, a Wii, and numerous supplies for weaving bracelets, and other fun activities
- The game room is fully equipped with Xboxes, computers, a Playstation 3, Wii and Wii Dancing and Singing, Ms. Pac-Man, board games, and a plethora of building supplies
- Theatre equipped with a movie screen, HD projection camera, Dolby sound system, video camera, and popcorn machine
- Arts & science area with a myriad of supplies, designed to accommodate creative science and art projects

Our Carol Stream center is located at 1280 Kuhn Rd, Carol Stream, IL 60188, along Kuhn Rd just off Army Trail Rd. We are conveniently close to Heritage Lakes and Carol Stream Elementary Schools and nearby Papoose Park, making morning drop-offs and daily routines seamless for neighborhood families.

Hello, my name is Carissa Klein and I am happily married to my husband Tim. We have 2 cats, a bunny, and planning to have children of our own.
I have been in early childhood education for 10 years. I graduated from National Louis University with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Practice and Administration. I’m passionate about creating an positive, communicative environment where every student, staff member, and family member feel valued and supported. I spent my first 6 years in ECE teaching children of all ages from infants to preschool, as well as school-aged children. Working with these children and watching them grow has been the most rewarding part of my job. I am looking very forward to my future work at Cadence Academy Preschool. I am blessed to be the leader of this amazing school.

Hi my name is Andrea Medina. I attended Northeastern Illinois University and majored in Early Childhood Education. I have worked in childcare for 20 years and here at Cadence Academy for 13 of those years. For the majority of my time here at Cadence I was a Pre-K teacher and then moved over to Infants for a fun change. I am married and have four children of my own as well as two dogs who keep me quite busy at home as well. Teaching has been a wonderful and rewarding experience that I look forward to being a part of every day!
