Amy Nguyen

School Director

As Senior Director at Cadence Academy Preschool – Bay Creek, I bring over 22 years of experience in early childhood education. I have been happily married for 20 years and am a proud mother of two. My career has been dedicated to creating nurturing environments where young children can grow, learn, and develop the skills they need for a bright future.

I am passionate about fostering a love of learning in every child and take pride in helping guide them through these critical early years. As a mother, I understand the importance of providing a safe and supportive place for children to grow, and I am passionate about helping each child discover a love for learning. I believe that early education lays the foundation for lifelong success, and I’m honored to be a part of that journey for the families in our community.

Beyond my work with children, I find great fulfillment in mentoring staff and supporting fellow directors at my sister schools. It’s a joy to assist in their professional growth and help create a strong, cohesive team committed to the highest standards of education and care.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. My son plays high school Varsity soccer and cross country, and my daughter is a competitive cheerleader for her middle school team and D2 Elite All Star team as well. We also enjoy traveling and exploring new places together.

Jordan Ledford

Assistant Director

I proudly serve as the Assistant Director at Cadence Academy Preschool – Bay Creek, where I have the privilege of shaping the early educational experience for young learners. With an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and over 11 years of experience in the field, I’ve spent 6 of those years dedicated to Georgia’s PreK program, building a strong foundation in nurturing young minds. I am passionate about curriculum development and love creating dynamic, enriching learning experiences that encourage children to explore, discover, and grow.

I have a deep love for curriculum development and enjoy creating enriching, dynamic learning experiences that inspire children to explore, discover, and thrive. Mentoring staff is also a passion of mine—helping educators grow in their careers is an incredibly fulfilling part of my role.

As a mother, I understand firsthand the importance of nurturing children in an environment where they feel safe, valued, and supported. My commitment to early childhood education is driven by my belief that these formative years lay the groundwork for lifelong learning and success.

I’m a proud Georgia Tech fan with a deep love for musical theatre. In my free time, you can find me cheering on my boys at the football and baseball fields or relaxing by the pool.

Summer Alabsa

Administrative Assistant

I am an Administrative Assistant at Cadence Academy Preschool -Bay Creek, where I play an integral role in ensuring the smooth operation of our preschool. I’ve always believed that “children are the future,” and I am passionate about creating an environment where both young learners and educators can thrive.

My desire to teach began at a young age, and that dream has only grown stronger over the years. Coming from a long line of early childhood educators, I’ve always been inspired by the impact of early learning. Becoming a mother to my own daughter further deepened my passion for education and my commitment to fostering a positive, engaging learning environment for children. Therefore, I obtained my Paraprofessional Certification in 2017 and am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in English Education with a concentration in Language and Literature.

I began my journey with Cadence Academy in 2022, and during this time, I’ve had the privilege of working with and learning from children of all ages and abilities. From supporting the daily administrative tasks to assisting in the classroom, I’ve gained invaluable experience in managing the needs of a diverse group of young learners. In my role at Cadence Academy, I assist with various administrative tasks, including communications, planning events which strengthen our connections with our families, both current and prospective, and providing support to both staff and parents. I am deeply committed to early childhood education and believe in the transformative power of nurturing young minds. Every day, I strive to create an atmosphere where children, families, and educators alike feel supported and inspired.

Jennifer Shiver

Teacher of the Year

Jennifer is an award-winning early childhood educator and the proud recipient of the 2026 Teacher of the Year honor, after previously being recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2023. With more than 20 years of teaching experience, she has dedicated her career to inspiring and supporting young learners during their most important developmental years.

Jennifer holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked in a variety of educational settings, including Kindergarten, Special Education, and Georgia Pre-K programs. She is passionate about creating a nurturing, engaging, and supportive learning environment where every child can grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Her caring approach, strong relationships with families, and commitment to student success have made a lasting impact on both children and the school community.

As a proud mother of two children, ages 21 and 17, Jennifer brings both professional expertise and personal understanding to her role as an educator, fostering a positive classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to succeed
