Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) is a free, high-quality education program designed to prepare Florida’s 4-year-olds for kindergarten and build a foundation for their educational success. High-quality VPK providers deliver age-appropriate curricula, including early literacy and math standards, in manageable class sizes led by qualified instructors. State data shows that children who participate in VPK are better prepared to enter kindergarten ready to learn.

School Readiness Program

Voluntary Kindergarten (VPK)

Florida’s Voluntary Prekindergarten program is a free, state-funded educational program for all 4-year-olds. The goal of VPK is to prepare children for kindergarten by building early literacy, math, and social skills in a structured classroom environment.

Step Up For Students Scholarships

Step Up for Students provides scholarships that give families the financial flexibility to choose the school that best meets their child’s learning needs.
