About Cadence Academy Preschool Boyd’s Center
At Cadence Academy Preschool Boyd’s Center, we provide the families of Middletown, Delaware high-quality daycare, preschool, and school-age programs for children ages infant through fourteen years. As a trusted childcare center, our philosophy includes providing a nurturing environment that fosters each child’s self-identity, utilizing developmentally appropriate practices to enhance each child’s learning opportunities at each stage of development.

Family involvement is an important part of our daycare and preschool community. As a small, close-knit early learning center, we believe families are an integral part of the program and encourage parents to actively participate in their child’s educational journey. Parents have opportunities to see their children’s teachers daily and to participate in the program as their schedules allow. This close relationship enhances each child’s personal growth and achievement and promotes a secure and safe environment. Communication between teacher and families adds to each child’s learning environment and offers support for continued success.

Our Approach to Early Childhood Education
Ascend Curriculum
Our Ascend Curriculum supports the academic, physical, emotional, and creative development of every child. It includes engaging activities in areas such as Cultural Understanding, Baby Signs, Literacy, Mathematics, and Technology.
We believe children learn best when experiences are tailored to their interests. Our teachers personalize learning activities and use small group instruction to better support each child’s individual needs and developmental stage, including infants and toddlers who benefit from early exposure to our curriculum.
Kind Child
A cornerstone of our preschool curriculum is our Kind Child program. The goal of Kind Child is to promote happiness, build positive friendships, and support strong social-emotional development in every child. Through this program, we introduce valuable character traits such as Responsibility, Thankfulness, Sharing, and a Positive Self-Image. We have found that when we attend to the emotional well-being of each child in our care, we also strengthen our school!

Valerie Miller
School Director
Valerie Miller is the School Director at Cadence Academy Preschool Boyd’s Corner in Middletown, Delaware. She graduated from Arcadia University and has worked in early childhood education since 2003. Valerie began her career in the classroom as a toddler teacher and worked her way up to Director in 2012. She loves seeing children learn and grow as they develop new skills in a supportive preschool environment while building strong connections with families and staff.
Valerie is the proud mother of two sons aged 10 and 13 and enjoys spending time outdoors with her family hiking, boating, reading, and cooking. She also has a dog, Maverick, who joins them on long walks. Her door is always open to families, and she looks forward to supporting children and parents throughout their experience at Cadence Academy Preschool Boyd’s Corner.
Jill Foster
Assistant Director
Jill Foster is the Assistant Director at Cadence Academy Preschool Boyd’s Corner in Middletown, DE. She has worked in the childcare field for 27 years and has been part of this school since 1997. She is the youngest of eight children and spent her early years surrounded by many nieces and nephews, fostering her passion for caring for children. With a lifelong passion for early childhood education, Jill enjoys watching children learn and grow in both daycare and preschool settings and values the strong relationships built with families.
Jill is married with two adult stepchildren. Her daughter lives in Delaware and also works in the education field. Her son is an officer in the Army and lives in upstate New York him and his wife welcomed a daughter (Ramona) in the fall of 2020, so I am officially a Gigi! In Jill’s free time, she enjoys traveling, country line dancing, hiking, and yoga. She loves welcoming children and families each day and being part of a caring preschool community.
Stepfanie Organek
Curriculum Coordinator
Stepfanie Organek has spent multiple year with the community of Cadence Academy Preschool! She has worked in childcare since 2008, beginning her journey while studying Early Childhood Education. After eight years of teaching and working behind the scenes helping children as an Office Manager with foster youth, she returned to her passion for early childhood education and joined the Cadence Academy family to work face to face with children.
Stepfanie lives in Delaware with her husband, son Liam, and their dogs Lucy and Penny. She enjoys spending time outdoors in warm weather and relaxing indoors with a good book and coffee. She brings a strong passion for hands-on learning and meaningful early childhood experiences to the preschool community.
Sridatri Sadhu
Teacher of the Year
Sridatri Sadhu is the Teacher of the Year at Cadence Academy Preschool Boyd’s Corner in Middletown, DE. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and previously tutored children in math and science in India. After moving to the United States in 2013 and raising her daughter, she returned to her passion for teaching and now works in early childhood education, where she has been part of Cadence Academy since 2023.
Sridatri believes in learning through fun activities such as playing, singing, dancing, arts & crafts, providing students with a rich array of hands-on activities, imaginative play experiences, and interactive games that spark their curiosity and foster their development. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring nature, watching movies, listening to music, and trying new recipes.
What are your hours?
We are open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM, providing full-day care to support working families.
What ages are accepted?
We offer programs for children from 6 weeks through 12 years old.
What will my child be learning?
Children learn through a skill-based curriculum that supports development across literacy, math, science, physical fitness, creative expression, social-emotional growth, cultural understanding, technology, and language. Learning is guided by teachers through intentional, age-appropriate activities that build skills step by step while supporting each child’s individual growth. This approach builds confidence, independence, and kindergarten readiness through engaging, hands-on experiences.
How do you ensure safety and security?
We prioritize safety through secure entry systems with individual access codes, trained staff certified in First Aid and CPR, and routine safety drills and emergency preparedness plans.

You can schedule a tour online using our self-service booking system with at least 24 hours’ notice so we can prepare for your visit and ensure the best experience for your family.
