Welcome to Cadence Academy, DTC in Centennial, Colorado! We are proud to share that we have been voted in the top 3 for Best Preschools of 2021 by the readers of Colorado Parent!

Cadence Academy Preschool, Centennial has 10 custom-designed classrooms where children have ample space for learning, yet still enjoy cozy, homelike amenities. We have found that young children transition more successfully into a daycare environment when they aren’t overwhelmed with vibrant colors and clutter. We opt to use natural tones and soft elements like pillows, soft seating areas, coverings, and soft lighting in our preschool’s classrooms.

Ascend Curriculum LogoPreviously operating under the name Gateway Academy, we changed our name to Cadence Academy Centennial in June 2018 as part of our ongoing commitment to provide families in Centennial high quality childcare. Cadence Academy Preschool has locations all over the nation and we’re known for our Ascend Curriculum, which is a skill-based curriculum that provides children with the physical, cognitive, and social tools they need to excel in kindergarten.

Preschool Programs

Kind Child

Kind Child Program LogoWe want all of our children to develop healthy social and emotional habits and Kind Child is a program that allows us to elevate the emotional well-being of our students. We focus on the development of social and emotional skill every month and build valuable character traits like Empathy, Responsibility, and a Positive Self-Image as part of our Ascend Curriculum.

We want Cadence Academy Preschool, Centennial to be a Kind School where everyone feels welcome and valued and our Kind Child program is an important part of making that ideal a reality.

Events at our Preschool

Our preschool is a hands-on learning environment where children experience fun while they learn. We venture out into our community throughout the year, but we also have in-house field trips to extend the learning process in areas such as music, science, and culture. One of our staff’s favorite days is our Transportation Fair, where we invite a variety of community helpers to bring their trucks and work vehicles to our preschool.

I have worked with young children over the past 6 years. My love for children began in the Denver Public Schools. Since I did not have any experience in early childhood education at that time, I started as an Aide and it only took a few months of working with children to realize this was the route I wanted to take, so I enrolled in the Community College of Aurora.

I was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. When I was eight years old my parents decided to come to Colorado and I have lived here most of my life! I love everything about Colorado! The outdoors, camping, and spending time with my family is what I enjoy most. I am a wife and a mother to two beautiful girls. I am proud to say that my youngest daughter attends Cadence Academy DTC! I look forward to working with each family in our school!

My family and I love Cadence Preschool DTC! The staff is wonderful to our daughter Millie. They are attentive, caring and very thorough. We were reluctant to enroll during Covid but our fears were quickly put to rest. Thank you Cadence!

I cannot recommend this center enough! From amazing communication, outstanding teachers, great curriculum and a loving environment. Prior to Cadence my daughter was at Busy Little Hands now known as Rocky Mountain Preschool. I had a terrible experience at BLH and was very clear on my expectations with Cadence. They talked me through my daughters day to day routine and addressed each and every one of my concerns. Being a younger mom many times I'm talked down to and treated like I don't know what I am doing or talking about but not here, any questions or concerns I have Ren and Monica address me just like any other parent. The teachers here are amazing and loving and treat my daughter like their own kid. It truly feels like I am part of something more than just a center it really feels like a family. Not to mention my daughter loves it here and most the time wants to stay at daycare. If there was an option for 10 stars they would earn it!

My family and I moved to the Centennial area in March and needed to find a new daycare. We chose Cadence Academy because they had availability and Monica (assistant director) was very nice, gave us a virtual tour and answered all the questions we had. As this was in the middle of covid we were not able to enter the building. We dropped off and picked up our son at the front door. This was a little concerning as we couldn't have any interaction with his teachers or get a general feel of the environment. But there weren't a lot of other options so we gave Cadence a chance. The first issue we had was when the director, Ren, was out of town and Monica worked the morning. These were (for the most part) the only two people my wife and I interacted with when dropping off and picking up. When my wife went to pick up our son, someone new to us was at the door and asked my wife who she was picking up (kind of a red flag. If you don't know who I am or who I'm picking up there should be some kind of verification, right? There wasn't). My wife told this person our son's name and waited for him to come out. THE WRONG KID WAS BROUGHT OUTSIDE TO MY WIFE. Confused, my wife had to let them know this was not our child. He was taken back inside and the correct child came on the 2nd attempt. We stupidly let this go.The reason I pulled our son out of Cadence is when I witnessed the way he was being treated in his classroom. Just last week the school started allowing parents back in the building, allowing us to pick up our child at their classroom door. Thursday afternoon I arrived to the classroom and our son and teacher were not insight. I waited outside the classroom and watched the children play. One of the kiddos was playing with a train, another boy pick it up and threw it across the room. In retaliation hitting and pushing occurred but no one was there to see it but myself. I then heard my son crying which was interrupted with "STOP IT! NO! BEND OVER!!" I quickly realized my son was getting his diaper changed and was most likely squirming as he has diaper rash. A minute goes by and my son rounds the corner, face flushed and tears in his eyes. The teacher then gets into view and completely changes her tone when she sees me. "Oh (my sons name), your daddy is here to pick you up!" It took everything in me not to lose my cool. I took my son home and told my wife what had happened. Her and I quickly came to the conclusion he would no longer go back to this school. "Our PromiseWe provide parents with peace of mind by giving children an exceptional education every fun-filled day in a place as nurturing as home."If you yell at your toddler when he is crying while changing his diaper he/she will be right at home."Program PhilosophyOur program philosophy is grounded on the principles that children should have a happy, safe and healthyenvironment in which to learn and play."After witnessing ON THE 3RD DAY we were allowed inside the building I cannot imagine this being a "happy" or "safe" environment. I wrote a strongly worded letter to the Director, Ren, that evening letting her know our concerns and that we were terminating "care" at their facility. I would be by tomorrow to pick our sons items and would be happy to discuss further if she would like. She did not respond to my email nor was she at the building when I arrived. My wife just recently followed up requesting we be reimbursed for a weeks care as we were out of town the previous week. Cadence allows "vacation" for families who do no use the school. She has not replied to that email either. I assume letting the director know where the school is falling short is something not well received as we haven't heard anything from her since pulling out our child. If you are researching where to send your little one (or got the good news there is availability, not surprised!) I implore you to look somewhere else. This is not the environment you want your little one in.
