Cadence Philosophy
At Cadence Academy Preschool, we believe that each child is a special gift, entrusted to our care by their parents. Each day, opportunities for exploratory learning are built into the preschool program schedule. Enthusiastic and dynamic teachers open a world of learning that children love to explore. We provide a positive, loving, controlled environment where children beg to come back… not an atmosphere of negativity where “don’t” and “stop” are prevalent words.
Our childcare center is designed to champion children to grow intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically, by cultivating a lifetime love of learning. Our philosophy emphasizes honoring God and our country, cultivating the importance of family and the community, instilling core values that make a difference in your child’s life.
We maintain no more than 9:1 student/teacher ratios for classes with children ages 2 years and above – most schools operate at 12:1. For our Toddler class, the ratio is no more than 6:1.

Our teacher-to-student ratios allow teachers to focus on the individual learning styles and needs of each child in our center.
Communication with Families
Our teachers and staff are passionate about forming a strong partnership with you to ensure the best possible experience for your child. Teachers provide daily communication with families and seek to understand your unique needs. Parental involvement is the key to a successful program, and parental concerns are both respected and supported by the Sunshine staff. We are here to help and support the work you are doing with your children at home.

Keelan Pratt
School Director
I have worked for Cadence Education since 2004 and love it. I attended our summer camp program as a child and had such a positive experience that I knew I wanted to work here and with kids someday. In my time with Cadence, I have taught both Preschool and Pre-K, worked administratively as an assistant director, and was honored to become the school director in January 2022. I have a true passion for Early Childhood Education, love leading our teachers to be the best that they can be and helping provide our families with a home away from home for their little ones.
Tracy Grondahl
Assistant Director
Tracy Grondahl is the Assistant Director with a heartfelt passion for early childhood education. She earned her B.A. in English and Art from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida and began her career teaching first grade before discovering her love for pre-kindergarten. Since then, she has worked with children of many ages—including at the North Valencia campus in 2016 and as a Pre-K teacher at the Wiley campus starting in 2019—cherishing every “lightbulb moment” when a child grasps something new and grows in confidence.
Tracy is dedicated to creating a warm, welcoming environment where every child feels excited to learn and every family feels supported. She values strong relationships with her colleagues and the families she serves, and she is grateful to be part of the Cadence Academy community. When she’s not at school, Tracy enjoys reading, gardening, painting and drawing, traveling, and spending time at the beach with her daughters and dog.
