About Creative Kids Preschool in Yorktown Heights

Creative Kids Childcare Centers is committed to providing children from 6 weeks to 12 years old safe and nurturing learning environments. We offer preschool and child care programs at five schools throughout Hudson Valley and our first center opened its doors in January 2001. Creative Kids Yorktown Heights was our second location and opened in August 2006.

Our directors, teachers, and staff are dedicated early childhood professionals who work together to create an early learning environment where every child feels at home. Our curriculum is flexible and individualized, which allows us to respond to the needs of each child as they develop emotional, physical, and intellectual skills.

Our Curriculum

Creative Kids utilizes The Creative Curriculum® in our infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten programs. The Creative Curriculum® enables every child to become a creative, confident thinker because it’s grounded in 38 researched-based objectives. These objectives are based on school readiness standards and research has shown them to be predictors of future academic success.

Kind Child

Kind Child LogoKind Child is an important part of our culture at Creative Kids. Our Kind Child program is a proprietary program that helps young children develop their character and social skills. We focus on a new social-emotional skills every month and a character trait like Responsibility, Thankfulness, and Friendship every two months. Our goal is to elevate the emotional well-being of every child in our care.

School-Age Program

Creative Kids Yorktown Heights offers an excellent before and after school program for elementary students who attend schools within the Lakeland Central School District. Our school is a stop on the bus route for the following schools:

  • Benjamin Franklin Elementary School – 3477 Kamhi Dr, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598
  • George Washington Elementary School – 3634 Lexington AVe, Mohegan, NY 10547
  • Thomas Jefferson Elementary School – 3636 Gomer St, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598
  • Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School – 3417 Old Yorktown Rd, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598

Creative Kids in Yorktown is great! Ms Donna and Ms Bri are always so welcoming in the morning during drop offs, they are so attentive to the kids and know them all by name, and always make time in their hectic days to talk with the parents if needed. We started at Creative Kids when my daughter was an infant ( “who has now moved on to toddler room) and her little brother is now in the infant room. I cannot say enough great things about infant room teacher, Ms Lorraine; she made the original transition for this new mom better than I could’ve ever imagined and my mind is at ease knowing that my babies were/are always in good hands. Now my daughter is in the toddler room and we love Ms Rosio and, more importantly, so does my daughter! She is hands on, does various developmental and physical activities with the kids and my daughter looks forward to seeing her each morning. Also, Ms JoJo is amazing!! Her enthusiastic personality brightens up the day, not just for the kids, but every time I see her too! Overall, Creative Kids has been a great place for my kids and we look forward to continuing our children’s care there.

I could not say enough great things about the staff at Creative Kids! Walking in feels like you’re at a family member’s house. Both my children are excited to be there and learn so much. Ms Donna and Ms Bri always make sure they are handling business while creating special bonds with the children. They make sure the teachers are providing the children with the best! Ms Rosio in the toddler room is one of the most amazing people I ever met. My son truly loves her and he is so engaged in learning with her! Ms Lorraine in the infant room cares for the babies like they are her own and it is so special to me as a mom leaving their kid at a young age for up to 9 hours a day! Ms JoJo makes learning fun and memorable and always does her best to make the kids happy and dancing! Thank you to creative kids for making this working mom have such peace of mind providing a safe fun environment for my kids!

All three of my kids have attended Creative Kids over the past 6 years. Ms.Donna and Ms. Bri have been extremely welcoming, helpful and it’s evident they truly enjoy working with children and families.
