May Townzen is the Central Area Regional Vice President for Cadence Education, one of the largest early childhood educators in the country. Ms. Townzen has over 28 years’ experience in the field of education. In her role as Regional Vice President, Ms. Townzen oversees the management and operations of all preschools, Montessori and faith-based schools in Texas and Arkansas. In addition, Ms. Townzen is also responsible for the Cadence Education elementary schools in New Jersey and California.
Prior to joining Cadence Education, Townzen worked in Naples, Italy, at which time her husband was serving duty with the United States Navy. Ms Townzen remained in Italy for six years, experiencing the Italian culture, working with children of N.A.T.O forces parents and gaining extensive knowledge of Montessori and Regio educational techniques. Ms. Townzen has continued to embrace and implement those trusted philosophies throughout her career.
On returning to the United States, Ms. Townzen worked with faith-based schools for many years until she became Director of a local preschool that was later acquired by Cadence Education. Since that time, her career with Cadence Education has grown, as she has been promoted from Area Manager to Regional Director and now, Regional Vice President.
Ms. Townzen and her husband have three children and seven grandchildren, five boys and two girls. When they are not spending time with their grandchildren, they both like the gratification of working on DIY projects.
Townzen holds a degree in business and early childhood education.
