February is a wonderful time for creating valentine’s and remembering those we love. One of our most beloved authors, Dr. Seuss, birthday is upcoming on March 2nd. To help  your child remember this special author we have created a simple craft you can complete at home. In the book, “Cat in the Hat” the children read about Thing 1 and Thing 2. These characters are a lot of fun in the story and a great way to have your child make a connection with the literature is to have them put something on paper. All you will need is, paint, a paintbrush, paper and markers. First, paint your child’s hand like pictured above. Then, print their hand prints or have them print them onto the paper. Next, have them wash the paint off their hands. Third, have your child draw the bodies that go with the characters. Lastly, have it dry and hang it! This project is also a wonderful keepsake to date and remember the size of your child’s hands as well. Enjoy your time and don’t forget to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday by reading one of his stories on March 2nd!
